Abstract

Blenderized Tube Feeding Formula (BTFF) merupakan salah satu terapi gizi yang dapat diberikan kepada pasien dengan risiko penurunan asupan makan dan energi. Pemberian BTFF diketahui dapat mengurangi biaya perawatan, angka kesakitan, dan angka kematian di rumah sakit. Pembuatan BTFF yang tidak sesuai rekomendasi dapat menyebabkan kebutuhan energi pasien tidak terpenuhi sehingga diperlukan inovasi untuk meningkatkan kualitas BTFF. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kandungan energi pada seduhan BTFF powder dan Formula Enteral Komersial (FEK) dengan densitas energi 1 kkal/ml. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Experimental Design. Kelompok perlakuan terbagi menjadi 3 yaitu kelompok seduhan BTFF powder, FE komersial 1, dan FE komersial 2. Kandungan energi diuji dengan uji nutrition fact. Masing-masing kelompok direplikasi sebanyak 3 kali sehingga didapatkan total 9 sampel. Analisis statistik dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji Kruskal-Wallis. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan bermakna antara ketiga kelompok perlakuan (p=0,066) dengan kandungan energi pada kelompok seduhan BTFF powder, FEK 1, dan FEK 2 berturut-turut sebesar 116 (106-130), 96 (92-101), dan 97 (95-99) kkal/100ml. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah seduhan BTFF powder memenuhi syarat kandungan energi formula enteral sehingga dapat direkomendasikan sebagai terapi gizi bagi pasien maupun rumah sakit yang membutuhkan.

English Abstract

Blenderized Tube Feeding Formula (BTFF) is one of the nutritional therapies that can be given to patients at risk of decreased oral and energy intake. Providing BTFF is known to reduce the cost, morbidity and mortality in hospitals. BTFF preparation that is not in accordance with the recommendations can cause the patient's energy requirements unachieved. The innovation is needed to improve the quality of BTFF. This study aimed to determine the difference of energy content in BTFF powder and Commercial Enteral Formulas (CEF) steeping with an energy density of 1 kcal / ml. The research design used was Quasi Experimental Design. There were 3 groups namely BTFF powder, CEF 1, and CEF 2 steeping group. Energy content was tested with nutritional facts test in laboratory. Each group was replicated 3 times so that a total of 9 samples were obtained. Statistical analysis was performed using the Kruskal-Wallis test. The results showed that there were no significant differences between the three treatment groups (p = 0.066) with the energy content median in the BTFF powder steeping group, FEK 1, and FEK 2 of 116 (106-130), 96 (92-101), and 97 (95-99) kcal/100ml. The conclusion of this study is BTFF steeping powder meets the energy content standard of enteral formula so that it can be recommended as a nutritional therapy for patients and hospitals in need.
