Abstract

UMKM adalah salah satu penegak ekonomi nasional sehingga harus memperoleh kesempatan, dukungan, perlindungan dan pengembangan dari seluruh masyarakat khususnya pihak pemerintah. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan data selama tahun 1997-2006, jumlah perusahaan berskala UMKM mencapai 99% dari keseluruhan unit di Indonesia. Salah satu kota di Jawa Timur yang memiliki perkembangan jumlah unit usaha yang cukup baik adalah Kota Malang. Salah satu UMKM di Kota Malang yang cukup berhasil dalam meningkatkan taraf hidup masyarakat adalah sentra industri tempe dan keripik tempe Sanan. Namun, untuk menghadapi persaingan dengan sentra industri lain, beberapa faktor yang berperan dalam peningkatan sentra keripik tempe harus ditingkatkan. Salah satu faktor yang harus ditingkatkan adalah kinerja usaha UMKM keripik tempe. Kinerja usaha dapat ditingkatkan melalui orientasi kewirausahaan, pasar kompetitif, dan kualitas SDM. Sentra UMKM keripik tempe Sanan membawahi 135 UMKM yang digolongkan menjadi 56 usaha skala mikro, 69 usaha skala kecil, dan 10 usaha skala menengah. Penentuan sampel UMKM menggunakan metode proportional stratified random sampling. Sampel diambil 30% dari masing-masing skala UMKM, sehingga diperoleh sampel sebanyak 40. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini berupa kuesioner yang dirancang dalam bentuk skala likert. Data yang telah diperoleh selanjutnya diolah dan dianalisis menggunakan metode Partial Least Square (PLS).viii Hasil pengujian statisik menunjukkan tujuh hipotesis pada penelitian ini memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan. Hipotesis pertama menunjukkan adanya pengaruh orientasi kewirausahaan terhadap pasar kompetitif, dimana makin baik orientasi kewirausahaan maka pasar kompetitif makin baik. Hipotesis kedua menunjukkan bahwa orientasi kewirausahaan berpengaruh terhadap kualitas SDM, dimana makin baik orientasi kewirausahaan maka kualitas SDM makin tinggi. Hipotesis ketiga menunjukkan bahwa orientasi kewirausahaan tidak berpengaruh terhadap kinerja usaha, dimana inovatif, risk taking, dan sikap proaktif yang kurang sehingga orientasi kewirausahaan tidak mampu meningkatkan kinerja usaha UMKM. Hipotesis keempat menunjukkan adanya pengaruh pasar kompetitif terhadap kinerja usaha, dimana makin baik pasar kompetitif UMKM maka kinerja usaha makin tinggi. Hipotesis kelima menunjukkan bahwa kualitas SDM berpengaruh terhadap kinerja usaha, dimana makin baik kualitas SDM maka kinerja usaha makin tinggi. Hipotesis keenam menunjukkan bahwa orientasi kewirausahaan berpengaruh terhadap pasar kompetitif, sehingga makin baik orientasi kewirausahaan maka pasar kompetitif makin baik, yang selanjutnya akan berdampak pada peningkatan kinerja usaha UMKM keripik tempe Kota Malang. Hipotesis ketujuh menunjukkan bahwa orientasi kewirausahaan berpengaruh terhadap kualitas SDM, dimana makin baik orientasi kewirausahaan maka kualitas SDM makin tinggi, sehingga akan berdampak pada peningkatan kinerja usaha UMKM keripik tempe Kota Malang

English Abstract

The micro small and medium is one of that the fast national economic enforcement so it is necessary to they have more opportunities , stronger financial support than any , rising sense of refuge and the development of of the whole community especially side government .This was conducted with the shall be proven with the data for years 1997-2006 , number of companies micro small and medium enterprises be of a reasonable size reached an unprecedented level of 99 % of a whole unit in indonesia .Any of the cities of east java which have the kind of their number of branches of the business to which would be good enough is the city of the miserable and to be pitied .One of micro small and medium enterprises in the city of poor souls who been quite successful at improve the economic situation of the community is the industry centres and crisps and tempeh and eat tempe producers added Sanan .But at the same time , to survive the competition with which are the centers of other industries , several factors that had a role in the increase in which are the centers of tempe producers added crisps has to be upgraded .One of the factors the city administration to here is performance small medium enterprise tempe producers added crisps .The performance of usaha can be promoted through have been decided like entrepreneur aerospace space hight orientation , the market competitive since it creates substantial , and the quality of human resources. Which are the centers of small and medium businesses umkm chips tempeh sub-village appointed to be in 135 micro and small entrepreneurs who grouped into 56 micro scalex business , 69 small-scale enterprises , and 10 an intermediate scale business .Sample the determination of small and medium businesses umkm uses the method proportional stratified random sampling .Sample taken 30 % of each scale of the small and medium businesses umkm , sample to as many as 40 .The instrument was used in this research in the form of the questionnaire that is designed in the shape of a scale likert .The data that has been obtained processed and analyzed uses the method partial least square (PLS). The results of testing statisik show seven hypothesis to research it has significant influence .Hypothesis first showed the influence orientation entrepreneurship to the market competitive , where the better orientation entrepreneurship and competitive market the better .Hypothesis second shows that orientation entrepreneurship influenced the quality of human resources , where the better orientation entrepreneurship and the quality of human resources the higher . Hypothesis third shows that entrepreneurship orientation has not been affecting business performance , where innovative , risk taking , and attitude proactive that is less so that entrepreneurship orientation be unable to improve the performance of small and medium businesses umkm businessHypothesis fourth show due to competitive market towards the performance of the business , where the better it is so competitive market of micro and small scale business performance higher and higher .Hypothesis fifth shows that the quality of human resources of its effect on business performance , where the better it is the quality of human resources and the higher business performance .Hypothesis sixth shows that influential competitive entrepreneurship orientation to the market , so it become good entrepreneurship orientation so competitive market the better it is , which will then have an impact on business to enhance the performance of small and medium businesses umkm chips tempeh poor city .Hypothesis seventh entrepreneurship orientation shows that influenced the quality of the human resources , where the better it is the orientation of entrepreneurship and the higher the quality of human resources , so that it will have an impact on business to enhance thexi performance of small and medium businesses umkm chips tempeh in Malang City
