Abstract
World Health Organization (WHO) memperkirakan bahwa setiap tahun terjadi sekitar 25 juta kasus keracunan pestisida atau sekitar 68.493 kasus setiap hari. Petani merupakan salah satu kelompok yang paling rentan mengalami dampak penggunaan pestisida seperti gatal-gatal, iritasi pada kulit, pusing, sakit kepala, mual, muntah dan batuk ketika kontak langsung dengan pestisida. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui hubungan kepatuhan pemakaian alat pelindung diri dengan keluhan kesehatan pada petani sayur penyemprot pestisida. Penelitian menggunakan analisis deskriptif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel 92 orang. Hasil uji statistik menggunakan uji korelasi spearman rank menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan antara kepatuhan pemakaian alat pelidung diri dengan keluhan kesehatan yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai p-value 0,000 (<0,05) dan r - 0,744 yang berarti semakin rendah kepatuhan maka semakin tinggi keluhan kesehatan. Petani diharapkan menggunakan alat pelindung diri sesuai prosedur kesehatan keselamatan kerja untuk mencegah terjadinya kecelakaan kerja. Petugas kesehatan diharapkan untuk tingkatkan upaya promotif dan preventif serta bagi peneliti selanjutnya dapat mencari metode yang tepat untuk meningkatkan kepatuhan penggunaan alat pelindung diri pada petani dan melakukan analisis uji kultur/swab pada area yang yang terkena paparan pestisida.
English Abstract
World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that every year there are around 25 million cases of pesticide poisoning or around 68,493 cases every day. Farmers are one of the most vulnerable groups to experience the effects of using pesticides such as itching, skin irritation, dizziness, headaches, nausea, vomiting and coughing when in direct contact with pesticides. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between compliance with the use of Personal Protective Equipment with health complaints in pesticide spraying vegetable farmers. The study used descriptive analysis with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique is purposive sampling with a sample of 92 people. Statistical tests using the Spearman rank correlation test. The results show that there is a relationship between compliance with the use of self-protection equipment with health complaints as indicated by the p-value of 0,000 (<0.05) and r - 0,744 which means the lower the compliance the higher the health complaint. Farmers are expected to use personal protective equipment in accordance with occupational health safety procedures to prevent work accidents. Health workers are expected to increase promotive and preventive efforts and researchers can then look for appropriate methods to increase compliance with the use of personal protective equipment on farmers and conduct culture/swab test analysis in areas affected by pesticide exposure.
