Abstract
Radiograf periapikal adalah radiograf intraoral yang menunjukkan mahkota dan akar dari satu atau beberapa gigi termasuk jaringan periapeks dan mempunyai manfaat diagnostik dalam terapi endodontik dan dalam mendeteksi patologi periapeks. Processing film pada radiograf periapikal umumnya menggunakan film konvensional dimana kelemahannya kurang praktis karena membutuhkan kamar gelap, sering terjadi kesalahan pada tahap processing serta membutuhkan waktu yang lama. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan kualitas hasil radiograf periapikal film konvensional dan film instan pada mahasiswa profesi radiologi Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi Universitas Brawijaya Malang. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 20 radiograf periapikal. Analisis data menggunakan uji rho spearman. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi rho spearman yang menunjukkan hasil ρ = 0,500, berarti ρ > α (0,05) artinya tidak ada perbedaan kualitas hasil radiograf periapikal film konvensional dan film instan pada mahasiswa profesi radiologi Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi Universitas Brawijaya Malang. Tidak adanya perbedaan yang siginifikan kualitas hasil periapikal film konvensional dan film instan disebabkan selama processing masing-masing film diarahkan sesuai standar operational procedure sehingga meminimalisir kesalahan dan memaksimalkan hasil film radiograf periapikal. Untuk penelitian selanjutnya sebaiknya evaluasi mutu radiograf oleh beberapa pengamat untuk menghindari terjadinya bias dalam penelitian.
English Abstract
Periapical radiographs are intraoral radiographs that show crowns and roots of one or more teeth including periapex tissue and have diagnostic benefits in endodontic therapy and in detecting periapex pathology. Film processing on periapical radiographs generally uses conventional film where the weakness is less practical because it requires a dark room, errors often occur at the processing stage and requires a long time. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the quality of the results of conventional periapical radiographs and instant films on the radiology profession students of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Brawijaya Malang. The design used in this study was observational analytic with cross sectional approach. The number of samples in this study were 20 periapical radiographs. Data analysis using the Spearman rho test. The measuring instrument used was an observation sheet. Data were analyzed using the Spearman rho correlation test which showed the results of ρ = 0.500, meaning ρ> α (0.05) meaning that there was no difference in the quality of the results of conventional periapical radiographs and instant films on the radiology profession students of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Brawijaya Malang. There is no significant difference in the quality of conventional and instant film periapical results because during processing each film is directed according to standard operational procedures so as to minimize errors and maximize the results of periapical radiograph films. For future studies, it is better to evaluate the quality of the radiograph by several observers to avoid ambiguous in the study.
