Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis peran gaya integrating dan compromising dalam memediasi pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap kinerja karyawan di kantor P4TK PKn dan IPS, Kota Batu, Jawa Timur. Populasi penelitian ini adalah karyawan yang berstatus Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS) dengan masa kerja 1 (satu) tahun dan minimal kelas jabatan 5 (lima) sejumlah 100 (seratus) orang. Seluruh populasi tersebut dijadikan sampel (sampel jenuh). Alat analisis yang digunakan adalah smartPLS 3.0. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional berpengaruh signifikan terhadap gaya integrating, gaya compromising dan kinerja karyawan. Selanjutnya, gaya integrating berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan dan mampu memediasi pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap kinerja karyawan, sedangkan gaya compromising tidak berpengaruh terhadap kinerja karyawan dan juga tidak mampu memediasi pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap kinerja karyawan. Akhirnya, penelitian ini memverifikasi bahwa kecerdasan emosional pada organisasi publik mampu memberikan hasil yang bermanfaat seperti yang ditemukan pada organisasi swasta.

English Abstract

This research aims at analyzing the role of integrating and compromising styles in mediating the effect of emotional intelligence on employee performance at the Centre for the Development and Empowerment of Educators and Educational Personnel of Civic Education and Social Science courses in Batu City, East Java. The population is 100 civil servants working not less than 1 year with 5 positional classes. All population members are taken as the research samples. The data are analyzed by smartPLS 3.0. The result of the study shows that emotional intelligence significantly influences the integrating style, compromising style, and employee performance. Furthermore, integrating style gives significant effect on the employee performance and is able to mediate the effect of emotional intelligence on the employee performance; on the other hand, compromising style neither influences the employee performance nor mediates the effect of such intelligence on the employee performance. Finally, this research verifies the fact that emotional intelligence in a public organization is able to raise beneficial output as found in some private organizations.
