Abstract
Di Indonesia bahasa Inggris digunakan sebagai bahasa asing. Akibatnya, menggunakan bahasa Inggris untuk aktivitas sehari-hari adalah sesuatu yang sangat langka. Bahasa Inggris hanya digunakan di ruang kelas dan beberapa persyaratan khusus dalam tes kecakapan. Mempertimbangkan alasan itu, peneliti melakukan penelitian ini dalam konteks pelajar mandiri untuk memperkaya studi. Penelitian ini membahas tentang pemanfaatan video berbasis Youtube sebagai media pembelajaran mandiri. Ini adalah studi kasus menggunakan metode kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan mewawancarai pelajar mandiri untuk mengetahui bagaimana ia memanfaatkan video berbasis Youtube sebagai media pembelajaran mandiri. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa strategi pembelajaran mandiri telah diterapkan pada siswa. Video Berbasis Youtube sebagai media pembelajaran mandiri dapat menjadi media yang tepat untuk pembelajaran. Maka itu akan membuat siswa mudah memahami tentang materi atau target pembelajaran. Disarankan bagi penelitian selanjutnya untuk mengetahui perspektif guru tentang bagaimana pelajar mandiri melakukan kegiatan belajar mereka.
English Abstract
In Indonesia English is used as a foreign language. Consequenstly, using English for daily activity is something very rare. English is only used in the classroom and some particular requirements in a proficiency test. Considering that reason, the researcher conducted this research in autonomous learner context to enrich the studies. This study discussed about the utilization of Youtube-Based Video as the autonomous learning media. It is a case study employing qualitative method. Data is collected by interviewing the autonomous learner to know how she utilized Youtube-Based Video as the autonomous learning media. The result of this study shows that the autonomous learning strategies is applyed on the student. Youtube-Based Video as the autonomous learning media can be the exact media for learning. Then it will make the student understanding easily about the materials or the learning target. It is recommended for further researcher to find out the teachers’ perspective on how the autnomous learner doing their learning activity.
