Abstract

Peraturan Pemerintah tahun 2013 meniadakan mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris dari mata pelajaran wajib pada sekolah dasar. Akan tetapi mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris adalah salah satu mata pelajaran yang diujikan pada ujian akhir dan juga menjadi mata pelajaran penting untuk syarat memasuki sekolah menengah. Bagaimanapun mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris tetap diajarkan di sekolah dasar walaupun menjadi pelajaran ekstrakulikuler, namun masih belum sesuai dengan standart dan belum ada silabus untuk mengajar bahasa Inggris di sekolah dasar. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini terselesaikan untuk pengembangan syllabus berdasarkan kearifan lokal untuk menyelaraskan standar pelajaran diantara satu sekolah dengan sekolah lainnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan model penelitian R&D dari Borg and Gall (2003). Untuk mengembangkan produk, penelitian in terdiri dari Need assessment, syllabus development, Expert validation, operational product revision, try out, dan final product. Dalam mendukung penelitian ini kuesioner, wawancara, lembar validasi dan lembar try out digunakan oleh peneliti sebagai instrument penelitian. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif. Ahli diminta untuk memvalidasi silabus kemudian syllabus yang sudah tervalidasi diberikan kepada pelajar sebagai uji coba. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pengembangan silabus bahasa Inggris telah terkembangkan berdasarkan kearifal local. Penelitian ini mengembangkan Task based silabus untuk kelas dua sekolah dasar. Silabus yang digunakan yaitu cooperative learning dan material berdasarkan kearifan local.

English Abstract

The government regulation year 2013 has been negating English subject in primary school from being a compulsory subject. On the other hand English subject is the one of the subject that will be tested in the school examination and becomes an important subject in terms of requirement to junior high school entrance. However English subject still taught in primary school as an extracurricular but there is no standard or syllabus for teaching English in primary school. Therefore this research is done to developed English syllabus to equalize the standards between one school and another. This study adapted Research and Development model by Borg and Gall (2003) research design. To develop the product, this research consists of Need Assessment, principle of product development, syllabus development, expert validation, operational product revision, try out, and final product. To support this research, questionnaire, interview, validation checklist, and try-out checklist used by researcher as an instrument of this research. The data was analyzed qualitatively. There was expert asked to validate the syllabus and the syllabus was given to the student as try- out after the syllabus has been validated. The result of the study showed that the developing English Syllabus has developed based on local wisdom. This study develops a task based syllabus for second grade of primary school. The syllabus is using cooperative learning and material based on local wisdom.
