Abstract

Kosakata adalah susunan kata yang digunakan untuk mengembangkan bahasa. Sebelum mempelajari Bahasa kedua, kosakata harus dikuasi terlebih dahulu. Kosakata adalah sebuah komponen penting untuk menguasai 4 keterampilan: membaca, menulis, mendengarkan dan berbicara. Terkadang, masalah yang dihadapi pelajar pada saat belajar Bahasa kedua adalah kosakata. Mereka kesulitan untuk mengingat kosakata. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti mengimplementasikan lirik lagu untuk meningkatkan kosakata pada siswa kelas sepuluh di SMA Panjura Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode tindakan kelas. Jumlah siswa yang diteliti pada penelitian ini adalah 27 siswa di kelas sepuluh SMA Panjura Malang. Peneliti menggunakan dua instrument pada penelitian ini diantaranya adalah daftar observasi dan tes membaca. Pada akhir penelitian ini , peneliti memberikan ujian akhir untuk mengetahui peningkatan kosakata mereka. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah semua kosakata siswa meningkat. Hal ini dapat dilihat berdasarkan nilai ujian akhir mereka bahwa 100% siswa mendapatkan nilai lebih dari 74. Artinya adalah, kriteria kesuksesan telah tercapai. Berdasarkan hasil diatas, peneliti menyarankan untuk peneliti selanjutnya agar mempunyai pengelolaan waktu yang baik selama kegiatan belajar mengajar berlangsung dan jika mereka ingin melakukan penelitian yang serupa, peneliti seharusnya menggunakan lagu yang terkenal pada saat itu.

English Abstract

Vocabulary is a set of word that is used to build a language. Before learning the second language, vocabulary must be mastered first. Vocabulary is a component that is important to master four skill; reading, writing, listening and speaking. Sometimes, the problem that usually faced by learners in study second language is the vocabulary. They have difficulties to remember the vocabulary. In this study, the researcher implemented the song lyrics to improv the vocabulary of the tenth grade students in SMA Panjura Malang. This study used Classroom Action Research method. The population of this study was 27 students in the tenth grade of SMA Panjura Malang. The researcher used two instruments in this study, which were observation checklist and reading test. In the end of this research, the researcher gave posttest to the students to know the improvement of the vocabulary.The result showed that all of the student’s vocabulary is improved. It can be seen from their post-test’s score that 100% of the students got more than 74 point. It means that the criteria of success is achieved. Based on the result above, the researcher suggests for the future researcher to have a good time management during the teaching and learning process and if they want to do the similar research, the researcher should use song’s melody that were popular at that time.
