Abstract
Website rumahtaaruf.com merupakan salah satu website tentang ta’aruf online di Indonesia. Website ini memaparkan tentang bagaimana proses dan mekanisme dari taarof online yang termediasi melalui website juga diperantarai oleh mediator. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana proses yang terjadi dalam ta’aruf online serta peran mediator sebagai perantara komunikasi bagi peserta. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitataif dengan metode deskriptif. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu wawancara semi terstruktur dengan mediator offline Rumah Taaruf, founder Rumah Taaruf, dan peserta yang berhasil menikah melalui Rumah Taaruf. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan hasil bahwa peran mediator dalam proses ta’aruf untuk membantu koordinasi diantara peserta perempuan dan laki-laki sebelum pertemuan offline berlangsung, membawa situasi agar lebih kondusif dan mencairkan suasana agar lebih santai serta bertanya tentang hal yang sekiranya peserta lupa karena efek canggung saat awal bertemu. Penelitian ini juga menjelaskan beberapa batasan seorang mediator dan tahapan dalam ta’aruf online dari awal hingga akhir dan juga bagaimana proses taaruf yang terjadi dari tahapan pertama hingga akhir di Rumah Taaruf.
English Abstract
Website Rumahtaaruf.com is one of the websites about online ta'aruf in Indonesia. This website explains about how the processes and mechanisms of online taarof mediated through the website are also mediated by mediators. The purpose of this research is to describe how the process that occurs in online ta'aruf and the role of mediators as communication intermediaries for participants. This research uses qualitative research with descriptive methods. This study uses data collection techniques, namely semi-structured interviews with the offline mediator Rumah Taaruf, founder of Taaruf House, and participants who successfully married through Taaruf House. The results of this study found that the mediator's role in the ta'aruf process was to help coordinate between female and male participants before the offline meeting took place, bring the situation to be more conducive and melt the atmosphere to be more relaxed and ask questions about what if participants forgot because of the awkward effects at the beginning of meeting. This study also explains some of the limitations of a mediator and the stages in online ta'aruf from beginning to end and also how the taaruf process occurs from the first stage to the end at Taaruf House.
