Abstract

Rendahnya produksi gula nasional diakibatkan oleh produktivitas tanaman tebu yang rendah. Pengembangan penanaman tebu dari lahan sawah ke lahan suboptimal semakin meningkat, antara lain ke lahan yang berkadar garam tinggi seperti di Lamongan. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, salah satu upaya dalam meningkatkan produksi tebu di lahan salin adalah dengan memberikan vermikompos dan pupuk nitrogen pada tanah salin. Vermikompos dapat meningkatkan biomassa tanaman seperti bobot kering akar, pucuk, dan total tanamanan. Penggunaan vermikompos dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai amelioran lahan salin untuk mengurangi pengaruh buruk dari tanah salin dan meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian vermikompos dan pupuk nitrogen terhadap serapan N, K, dan Na tanaman tebu. Vermikompos dan pupuk N dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman tebu pada tanah salin. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari hingga September 2018 di Balai Penelitian Tanaman Pemanis dan Serat (BALITTAS) Malang. Analisa contoh tanah dan analisa pertumbuhan tanaman tebu dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Kimia Tanah Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Brawijaya. Rancangan penelitian yang dilakukan ialah Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial. Setiap faktor terdiri dari 3 level, yaitu : Faktor I Vermikompos dengan 3 level, yaitu : 0 ton/ha, 10 ton/ha, 20 ton/ha. Faktor II dosis pupuk nitrogen dengan 3 level, yaitu : 50 kg/ha, pupuk 75 kg/ha, 100 kg/ha dengan rekomendasi pemupukan ZA 500 kg/ha. Sehingga diperoleh 9 kombinasi perlakuan dengan ulangan 3 kali. Variabel yang diamati dalam penelitian ini dikelompokkan menjadi tiga komponen, yaitu tanah, pertumbuhan dan analisis pertumbuhan tanaman serta hasil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian vermikompos dan pupuk nitrogen dapat meningkatkan serapan N dan K tanaman. Pada perlakuan vermikompos 20 ton/ha dan pupuk nitrogen 100 kg/ha berpengaruh nyata terhadap serapan N tanaman tebu serta terjadi serapan N paling tinggi dari pada perlakuan yang lain. Pada perlakuan vermikompos 20 ton/ha dan 50 kg/ha serta 100 kg/ha berpengaruh nyata terhadap serapan K tanaman tebu. Pada setiap perlakuan antara vermikompos dan pupuk nitrogen berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua parameter yang diamati, kecuali K-dd tanah, serapan natrium, tinggi tanaman 1 BST, jumlah anakan, dan jumlah daun 1 BST.

English Abstract

The low national sugar production is caused by the low yields of sugar cane plants. The development of sugar cane planting from paddy fields to sub-optimal land is increasing, such as a land with the high rate of salt on it, like Lamongan as well. Based on these conditions, one of the efforts to increased sugarcane yield in saline fields was applied vermicompost and nitrogen fertilizer on it. Vermicompost can increased plant biomass such as root dry weight, shoots, and total plants. Vermicompost can be used as saline ameliorant to reduce the negative effects of saline soil and improve plant growth. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of vermicompost and nitrogen fertilizer on sugarcane N, K, and Na uptake. Vermicompost and N fertilizer can increase the growth of sugarcane in saline soil. This research was conducted from January to September 2018 at Sugar Cane and Fiber Crops Research Institute (BALITTAS) in Malang. Soil samples and sugar cane growth were analysed at Soil Chemical Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Brawijaya University. The treatment was arranged with factorial randomized block design. Each factor consists of 3 levels, the first factors are 3 levels of vermicompost they are (0 tons/ha, 10 tons/ha, 20 tons/ha). The second factors are 3 levels of nitrogen fertilizer which are divided on 100 kg/ha, 75 kg/ha, and 50 kg/ha with recommended fertilizer are 500 kg/ha of ZA. So it means 9 combinations of treatment were gotten with 3 times replication each others. The observed variables in this study are grouped into three components, namely soil, growth and analysis of plant growth and yield. The results showed that vermicompost and nitrogen fertilizer can increased N and K absorbed by the plants. Treatment with 20 tons/ha vermicompost combined with 100 kg/ha nitrogen fertilizer shown an significantly affected with the amount of N can be absorbed by the sugar cane, and also is the highest N absorption among of all treatments. At the 20 tons/ha vermicompost treatment combined 50 kg/ha and 100 kg/ha there was an significantly affected with K sugarcane absorbed. The interaction between vermicompost and nitrogen fertilizer significantly affected all observed parameters, except soil K-dd, sodium absorption, plant height at 1 month after planted, number of tillers, and number of leaves 1 month after planted.
