Abstract

UD.

English Abstract

UD. Dibyo Teknik is one of the companies engaged in manufacturing industries manufacturing production machines, for example copper machines, mixers, conveyors, and animal scales. The problem that was found in the company was an irregular work system or did not consider the movement and limitations of workers at work, even though production activities were carried out manually. In addition, there were activities in the manual material handling (MMH) that lead to the emergence of low-back pain risks for finishing work stations and the existence of complaints and health problems for workers, especially in the back because MMH activities were carried out. Therefore, to solve those problems, this research was conducted with the aim of analyzing the risk of work posture at finishing workstations based on the RULA approach, compiling recommendations for improving good work posture for workers, and redesigning finishing workstations that were adapted to Indonesian anthropometric data. This research was carried out using the Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) method. RULA is a method for assessing posture, style, and movement of a work activity that is related to the use of the upper limb. This method uses body posture diagrams and assessment tables to provide an evaluation of the risk factors experienced by workers. The first step was to conduct field studies, identify problems, formulate problems, and determine the purpose of the problem. The next stage was collecting data, both primary and secondary data, for example was the data of work posture. The next stage was processing data including determining the score of Table A (Upper Arm Score, Lower Arm Position, and Wrist Position), Table B scores (Neck, Trunk, and Leg), and determining the final score of RULA. The last step was to conduct analysis and discussion, formulate recommendations for improvement, and draw conclusions and suggestions from the results of this study. The results of this study were risk analysis of work posture at finishing workstations of UD. Dibyo Teknik Singosari based on the RULA approach which showed that operators that were observed need improvement in the long term and as soon as possible, so that to reduce the risk of injury to the operator, a recommendation for improvement was given by designing of material handling tools. Aids designed in the form of a hand trolley that had been adjusted to the results of an anthropometric dimension measurement analysis in Indonesia. In addition, a proposal to redesign work facilities was adjusted to the anthropometric data to reduce the risk of operator injury so they could do their work in a neutral angle position.
