Saphira, Halyta Mega (2019) Evaluasi WHC (Water Holding Capacity) Profil Tanah di Kebun Percobaan Kemiri Sunan, Kecamatan Kalipare, Kabupaten Malang. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
Land evaluation is a process or activity to evaluating the appearance of land for special purposes such as the assessment of Reutealis trisperma in an research land. Reutealis trisperma (Blanco) Airy Shaw, which is one of the best commodities producing biodiesel, is able to become a potential commodity choice to support the regional economy. Commodities that are being developed are growing and developing depending on the availability of water, especially on rainfed land as well as in 2 blocks of Reutealis trisperma in the study area, which have different land characteristics with planting age wich diffferents too, and have encountered puddles of water during bulk high rainfall lasts for a long time. Looking at the economic potential and problems in the land development, this study was conducted with the aim of evaluating the condition of the soil profile of the Water Holding Capacity. The research was carried out on 2 blocks land of Reutealis trisperma in experimental garden of Balai Penelitian Tanaman Pemanis dan Serat (Balittas), Kalipare. The selection of land blocks is based on the existence of different land characteristics and planting ages, namely age 6 years 1 month and 4 years 4 months. The actual condition of WHC (Water Holding Capacity) is obtained through texture determination, permeability observation, measurement of pF value 0; 2.5 and 4.2, as well as the bulk density and particle density at each soil horizon that was obtained by making 1 cross section of the soil profile in the middle of the Reutealis trisperma block of the research land. The results obtained will be associated with appropriate management potential. WHC (Water Holding Capacity) in the block of 6 year 1 month old Reutealis trisperma land has a higher WHC (Water Holding Capacity) compared to the 4 year and 4 month old Reutealis trisperma block. However, the conditions of the WHC (Water Holding Capacity) of the two land blocks are classified as low (5-10% volume) untill very low (<5% volume), so proper soil management is needed. The management advice that can be applied is to make biopores that can increase water absorption in the soil.
