Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis gambaran school well-being pada mahasiswa penyandang disabilitas tunanetra di Universitas Brawijaya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Data diperoleh menggunakan tiga cara, yaitu wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Informan merupakan mahasiswa penyandang disabilitas tunanetra di Universitas Brawijaya yang ditentukan berdasarkan teknik purposive sampling sejumlah empat orang. Analisis data menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman dengan teknik triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan keadaan school well-being pada aspek having, loving, being dan health yang berbeda dari keempat subjek. Secara keseluruhan school well-being dapat terpenuhi pada subjekWN dan subjek FS yang dapat mengatasi kendala pada aspek tertentu dan telah merasa nyaman dan senang dengan kondisi kampus, sedangkan subjek PG dan subjek FR kurang merasa nyaman, merasa stres, cenderung pasrah dan memiliki kesulitan dalam mengikuti perkuliahan. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai bahan acuan universitas inklusif untuk menyiapkan suasana belajar yang lebih baik dan aksesibel bagi mahasiswa tunanetra. Terdapat faktor-faktor lain yang dapat mempengaruhi school well-being mahasiswa tunanetra yaitu pelayanan pendampingan, penyediaan guiding block, penanda braille atau audio pada lift dan ruangan, penyediaan materi softfile, ada tidaknya diskriminasi dan kesadaran akan disabilitas terhadap mahasiswa tunanetra pada lingkungan kampus.

English Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the overview of school well-being among visual impairments students in Universitas Brawijaya. This research is a qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Data obtained using two ways, namely interviews and observations. Informants were students with visual impairments in Universitas Brawijaya who were determined based on a purposive sampling technique of four people. Data analysis used the interactive models of Miles and Huberman with source triangulation techniques. The results of the study describe the state of school well-being in the aspects of having, loving, being and health that are different from the four subjects. Overall, school well-being can be fulfilled on the subject of WN and FS subjects who can overcome obstacles in certain aspects and have felt comfortable and happy with the condition of the campus, while PG and FR subjects feel less comfortable, feel stressed, tend to surrender and have difficulty in following lecture. The results of this study can be used as an inclusive university reference material to prepare a better and more accessible learning atmosphere for blind students. There are other factors that can affect blind school well-being students, namely mentoring services, provision of guiding blocks, braille or audio markers on elevators and rooms, provision of softfile materials, the presence or absence of discrimination and awareness of disability for blind students on campus.
