Abstract
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui optimasi panjang mixing coil, konsentrasi NaOH, dan validitas dari metode flow injection analysis (FIA) untuk penentuan hidrokuinon pada salep penghilang bekas jerawat dan flek hitam. Pengukuran hidrokuinon dengan metode FIA didasarkan pada pembentukan kompleks hidrokuinonfloroglusinol yang berwarna jingga-kemerahan dan dapat dideteksi secara spektrofotometri pada panjang gelombang maksimum 493 nm. Optimasi dilakukan dengan variasi panjang mixing coil-1 dari 0- 150 cm, panjang mixing coil-2 dari 50-150 cm, dan konsentrasi NaOH dari 0,01-0,1 M. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil optimum pada panjang mixing coil-1 50 cm, mixing coil-2 100 cm, dan konsentrasi NaOH 0,05 M. Sampel kosmetik yang diuji mengandung hidrokuinon dengan konsentrasi masing-masing 12,20 ppm, 30,68 ppm dan 38,60 ppm. Validitas metode FIA diuji dengan cara adisi standar dengan mengukur nilai recovery hidrokuinon dalam sampel kosmetik. Metode FIA-spektrofotometri memiliki validitas pengukuran yang cukup baik ditunjukkan dengan nilai recovery yang relatif tinggi sebesar 94-110 %.
English Abstract
The aim of this research is to find out the optimum of mixing coil, NaOH concentration, and the validity of flow injection analysis (FIA) method for the determination of hydroquinone on acne scar removal and black spots. The measurement of hydroquinone by FIA method is based on the formation of reddish orange hydroquinonephloroglucinol complex which can be detected using UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 493 nm. Optimization was done by varying mixing coil-1 from 0-150 cm, mixing coil-2 from 50-150 cm, and concentration of NaOH from 0.01-0.1 M. The results showed optimum on the mixing coil-1 length of 50 cm, mixing coil-2 length of 100 cm, and NaOH concentration of 0.05 M. The exsamined cosmetic samples contained hydroquinone with concentration of 12,20 ppm, 30,68 ppm and 38.60 ppm respectively. The validity of the FIA method was tested by standard addition, by measuring recoveries of hydroquinone added in the cosmetic samples. and then adding standard 40 ppm hydroquinone and measured the recovery value of the sample used. Validity of FIAspectrophotometry acceptable the shown by relatively high revoveries from of 94-110%
