Abstract

Gedung Graha Rektorat UM adalah gedung yang terdiri dari 9 lantai, dimana gedung ini banyak digunakan oleh mahasiswa untuk keperluan tertentu dan pusat pelayanan mahasiswa dari berbagai fakultas dan jurusan. Masalah dalam layanan akses yang cepat salah satunya adalah kapasitas bandwidth. Salah satu media transmisi yang dapat mengatasi masalah kecepatan akses adalah menggunaka serat optik. Karena serat optik memiliki kapasitas bandwidth yang besar. Jaringan Fiber To The Building (FTTB) merupakan solusi dari permasalahan kecepatan akses karena jaringan ini memiliki bandwidth yang lebar serta dapat memenuhi layanan triple play, seperti suara, video, dan data. Desain jaringan Fiber To The Building (FTTB) pada Graha Rektorat UM menggunakan software Optisystem 7.0 serta dilakukan analisis terhadap desain yang telah dibuat. Hasil dari desain jaringan FTTB akan dianalisis mengenai performansi desain jaringan ini yang meliputi Link Power Budget, Link Rise Time Budget, BER, dan SNR. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai BER berbanding lurus terhadap jarak, nilai SNR berbanding terbalik terhadap jarak, nilai daya total lebih besar dari total redaman, dan nilai maksimum rise time masih dibawah nilai maksimum yang diperbolehkan.

English Abstract

Graha Rektorat UM building is a 9 storeys building, here mostly students attend for certain purposes and there is some student service centers of various faculties and majors. Problems in fast access services one of which is bandwidth capacity. One of the transmission media that can overcome the problem of access speed is using optical fiber. Because fiber optics have large bandwidth capacity. With these conditions, it takes a network with a higher speed. Fiber To The Building (FTTB) network is a very strategic solution because this network has a wide bandwidth. It also supports triple play services, such as voice, video, and data. The design of Fiber To The Building (FTTB) network at Graha Rektorat UM uses Optisystem 7.0 software and analyzed the design that has been made. The results of FTTH network design will be analyzed on the design performance of this network which includes Link Power Budget, Link Rise Time Budget, BER, and SNR. . The results showed that the value of BER is directly proportional to the distance, the SNR value is inversely proportional to the distance, the total power is greater than the total attenuation, and the maximum rise time value is still lower than the maximum value applied.
