Abstract
Surabaya memiliki banyak bangunan peninggalan Belanda yang bersejarah, salah satunya adalah Kantor Gubernur Jawa Timur. Kantor ini memiliki keunikan pada karakter spasial dan visualnya sehingga perlu ditinjau untuk mengetahui arahan pelestarian agar keaslian pada bangunan tetap terjaga. Keunikan karakter visual pada banguan ini terlihat pada atap bangunannya yang datar, memiliki menara jam yang memiliki hiasan pada puncaknya berupa tiang emas dan cat warna putih yang mendominasi pada bangunan ini. Keunikan pada karakter spasialnya adalah bangunan ini merupakan satu-satunya bangunan dengan orientasi pada bagian utara berbatasan dengan viaduct dan sebelah barat berbatasan dengan alun-alun tugu pahlawan yang dulunya adalah gedung pengadilan Paleis Van Justitie. Pelestarian yang ada pada bangunan ini dibagi menjadi tiga potensi yakni potensi tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Untuk elemen rendah dengan teknik preservasi terdiri dari 26 elemen bangunan. Elemen-elemen dengan potensial sedang diarahkan ke teknik pelestarian rehabilitiasi-konservasi terdiri dari 47 elemen. Elemen- elemen dengan potensial rendah terdiri dari 7 elemen diarahkan ke teknik pelestarian rehabilitasi.
English Abstract
Surabaya has lots of Dutch heritage of historic buildings, one of which is the Office of the Governor of East Java. This office has a unique characteristic of visual and spatial thus need to be reviewed to determine the direction of conservation so that the authenticity of the building is maintained. The unique character of the building of the visual is visible on the flat roof of the building, has a clock tower which has a decoration on the peak of the pole gold and white paint that dominates in this building. The uniqueness of the spatial character is this building is the only building with an orientation on the northern part bordering the viaduct and the west bordering the square heroes monument (Alun-alun tugu Pahlawan which in 1936 there was a building the courthouse of Paleis van Justitie. Preservation of the existing building is divided into three potential that is the potential of high, medium and low. To lower element with preservation techniques consist of 26 elements of the building. The elements with potential are being redirected to rehabilitiasi preservation-conservation techniques consist of 47 elements. Elements with low potential consists of 7 elements are directed to the preservation techniques of rehabilitation.
