Abstract

Pasar Induk Gadang merupakan salah satu pasar yang memiliki peran penting bagi perkembangan perekonomian Kota Malang dan sekitarnya. Kondisi Kota Malang yang merupakan kota terbesar kedua di Jawa Timur menjadi daya tarik bagi penduduk luar kota untuk datang mencari penghasilan di Kota Malang, terutama di sektor non formal. Bertambahnya jumlah pedagang Pasar Induk Gadang dari tahun ke tahun tidak berbanding lurus dengan peningkatan kondisi pasar, baik secara kualitas maupun kuantitas. Mengacu pada wacana pemerintah yang terdapat Perda Kota Malang Nomor 4 Tahun 2011 Tentang Rencana Tata Ruang Wilayah Kota Malang Tahun 2010-2030 Pasal 50 ayat 1 yang berbunyi “kegiatan perdagangan skala besar untuk jenis sayuran, ikan dan sejenisnya (pasar basah) tetap menggunakan Pasar Induk Gadang dan dikembangkan ke arah areal eks Terminal Gadang”, maka Pasar Induk Gadang harus dirancang ulang. Perancangan Pasar Induk Gadang yang baru, didalamnya juga harus terdapat proses pengembangan sehingga dapat menampung jumlah pedagang lama maupun pedagang yang baru. Nilai-nilai arsitektur harus terdapat pada perancangan pasar, untuk meminimalisasi kesan-kesan negatif yang selama ini terdapat pada pasar. Perancangan Pasar Induk Gadang juga tidak akan lepas dari standar yang telah ditetapkan oleh pemerintah terkait, serta standar-standar perancangan yang berkaitan dengan arsitektur sehingga diperoleh sebuah bangunan dengan fungsi pasar yang dapat menjamin keamanan dan kenyamanan pelaku aktivitas pasar. Malang as second biggest City in East Java became attracted to residents outside the city to seek for jobs in Malang, especially in non-formal sectors. The increasing numbers of merchants in Gadang Wholesale market incompatibly grows along with escalation market condition, whether in term of quality and quantity. According to 2010-2030 Malang City Spatial Planning, clause 50 verse 1 about “any kind of big scale fish trading, vegetable trading and any kind of similar types remain to be done in Gadang Wholesale Market and to be expanded until former Gadang bus station”. Therefor Gadang Wholesale market has to be redesigned. Design planning of the new Gadang Wholesale Market has to accommodate market development so that it can handle the existing merchants and the upcoming merchants in the future. Architectural value also should be contained in the design to effectively diminished negative impressions of nowadays traditional market. Design planning for Gadang Wholesale market should also consider the legal standards which have been assigned by government and also architectural standards as to get a design of building function as market that could guarantee security and comfort ability for market user.
