Abstract

Wayang merupakan salah satu hasil budaya kesenian bangsa indonesia. Wayang juga bisa dibilang sebagai seni dekoratif yang merupakan ekspresi kebudayaan nasional dan merupakan media pendidikan, media informasi dan media hiburan. Ada tiga museum wayang di Indonesia, salah satunya adalah Museum Wayang Kekayon Bantul Yogyakarta dengan rencana pengembangan kedepannya. Museum ini terletak di Jalan Raya Wonosari Km 7 Yogyakarta kondisinya kini terlihat tak terawat. Kiranya perlu upaya gagasan pengembangan museum ini kearah museum modern. Dewasa ini gagasan perancangan museum modern dalam arsitektur sangat berperan penting, seperti penerapan mnemonic atau teknik untuk memudahkan mengingat sesuatu dalam museum yang berkaitan erat dengan strategi dimana desain visual arsitektur museum sebagai interpretasi isi museum agar masyarakat lebih mudah mengingat. Selain itu juga dirumuskan pula 7 New Trends in Museum Design oleh Larry Flynn tahun 2002 dimana salah satunya adalah Museum Strukture as Artwork and Attractor , atau bangunan museum sebagai skulpture penanda suatu kawasan. Untuk mencapai tampilan visual berkarakter wayang, kiranya perlu adanya kajian bahasa rupa wayang kulit purwa terlebih dahulu, agar dapat tercapai perancangan museum yang berkarakter visual wayang. Tampilan visual yang memiliki ciri khas pada elemen rupa desain wayang dapat terlihat dari unsur-unsur rupanya yang biasa disebut tatahan dan sunggingan wayang. Teori kajian semiotika yang berkembang dikeilmuan desain rupa dan komunikasi dapat direkomendasikan sebagai alat kajian bahasa rupa pada wayang kulit purwa, sehingga hasil kajian dapat digunakan oleh arsitek (desainer) sebagai sumber inspirasi dan ide konsep perancangan visual arsitektur. Dalam arsitektur juga berkembang strategi atau metode untuk menerapkan objek bahasa rupa kedalam desain bentuk dan tampilan visual arsitektur yaitu metode transformasi desain. Kiranya sangat diperlukan metode ini untuk mempermudah menerapkan hasil kajian semiotika bahasa rupa wayang kedalam bentuk arsitektural museum wayang, dengan cara mengeksplor unsur rupa dalam wayang ke wujud bentuk dan tampilan visual arsitektur. Setelah proses kajian semiotika bahasa rupa wayang kulit purwa pada unsur tatahan sunggingannya, serta proses desain transformasi dari hasil kajian bahasa rupa menjadi hasil desain arsitektur museum wayang dilakukan, diharapkan dapat terwujudnya perancangan desain arsitektur museum wayang kekayon di Bantul Yogyakarta yang bertaraf modern dengan tampilan visual museum memiliki karakteristik dan sebagai representasi visual dari bahasa rupa wayang kulit purwa. Dari proses penulisan dan desain ini pula diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pertimbangan dan bacaan bagi pada pembaca khususnya desainer arsitektur bahwa tampilan visual museum yang memiliki karakter dan representasi dari isi museum sangat penting dalam perancangan museum modern, serta metode kajian semiotika dan metode desain transformasi dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif untuk mengeksplorasi kreatifitas desain khususnya dari segi tampilan visual arsitektur agar lebih memperkaya dan berkembang ide desain dalam perancangan arsitektur.

English Abstract

Puppet or wayang is one of the indonesian art culture. Puppet or wayang also known as decorative art which is an expression of national culture and an educational media, media information and entertainment media. There are three museums puppets in Indonesia, one of which is Museum Kekayon Bantul, Yogyakarta with future development plans. The museum is located at Km 7 Jalan Raya Yogyakarta Wonosari with unkempt condition. It should be the idea of developing the museums efforts towards a modern museum. Nowadays the idea of a modern museum design in architecture has a very important role, such as the application of mnemonic or technique to make it easier to remember something in the museum that is closely related to architectural visual design strategy where the interpretation of the contents of the museum as a museum so that people are more easily remembered. In addition it is also formulated 7 New Trends in Design Museum by Larry Flynn in 2002 where one of them is as Structure Museum Artwork and attractor, or building the museum as a marker sculpture region. To achieve the visual appearance of the puppet character, it is necessary to study the existence of such a wayangs visual language first, in order to achieve the design of the museum that has the visual character of the puppet. The visual appearance is characterized by the physical elements of the design of the puppet can be seen from the physical elements which is called tatahan sunggingan . Semiotic theory that developed in the study of visual design can be recommended as a tool in the study of visual language of wayang kulit purwa , so the results of the study can be used by architects (designers) as a source of inspiration and ideas architectural visual design concepts. In architecture there is a strategy or method to implement an object of visual language into the form design and visual appearance of the architecture that is the design transformation methods. so this method is very necessary to implementing the results of the semiotics of wayangs visual language research into architectural form of museum of wayang , to explore how visual elements in wayang to the form and the visual appearance of the architecture. After the review process semiotics of visual language on tatahan and sunggingan elements, as well as the design process of transformation from the research results of the visual language into museum architecture design is done, is expected to be the realization of architectural designing the wayang museum in Bantul Yogyakarta Kekayon modern standard with a visual display museum characteristics and as a visual representation of a visual language wayang prototype. Of the writing process and the design is also expected to be used as consideration for the reader and reading architectural designer in particular that the visual appearance of the museum that has the character and representation of the contents of the museum are very important in the design of a modern museum, as well as methods of study semiotics and transformation design method can be used as an alternative to explore the creativity of the design, especially in terms of visual appearance of the architecture in order to further enrich and develop design ideas in architectural design.
