Abstract
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self-compassion dengan body image pada laki-laki yang mengalami obesitas. Subjek pada penelitian ini berjumlah 300 orang laki-laki yang mengalami obesitas. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan non probability sampling dengan metode accidental sampling dengan kriteria sampel yaitu laki-laki berusia > 15 tahun hingga 59 tahun dan berdomisili di Kota Malang. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan 2 skala yaitu skala self-compassion yang disusun peneliti berdasarkan 3 aspek self-compassion menurut Neff dan skala body image yaitu The Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire (MBSRQ) versi Indonesia yang sudah ditransadaptasi oleh Milanzahri. Teknik analisis data menggunakan korelasi Product Moment Pearson. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara self-compassion dengan body image pada laki-laki yang mengalami obesitas dengan taraf signifikansi p sebesar 0,0001 (p<0,05) dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar r = 0,604. Variabel self-compassion berkontribusi terhadap variabel body image sebesar 35,5%.
English Abstract
This research aimed to know the relationship between self-compassion and body image in obese men. A total of 300 obese men as the subject of the research. This research used correlational quantitative method. In this research, the researcher used non-probability sampling as the sampling technique and accidental sampling method. The sample criteria used men aged 15-59 and domicilied in Malang. This research used two scales of research instrument, which are self-compassion based on three aspects by Neff and body image scale which is Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire (MBSRQ) Indonesia version transcended by Milanzahri. The researcher used Product Moment Pearson correlation as the data analysis technique. The result of the research shows that there is a relationship between self-compassion and body image in obese men with p significance level of 0.0001 (p <0,05) with correlation coefficient of r = 0,604. Self-compassion variable contributed to body image in the amount of variable of 35,5%.
