Abstract
Candida albicans adalah sebuah spesies fungi diploid yang tumbuh sebagai yeast dan sel filamentosa dan merupakan salah satu agen penyebab infeksi oportunistik pada bagian oral dan genitalia pada manusia. Minyak atsiri Daun Kemangi adalah tanaman obat tradisional yang mempunyai efek antijamur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan efektivitas antara minyak atsiri daun kemangi dengan ketokonazol 2% terhadap pertumbuhan Candida albicans secara in vitro. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental dengan menggunakan metode difusi agar. Konsentrasi yang digunakan yaitu 65%, 60%,55%,50%, 45% dan ketokonazol 2% sebagai pilihan perlakuan. Data diperoleh dengan menghitung diameter dari zona bening pada masing-masing lubang sumuran. Data hasil penelitian lalu dianalisis menggunakan uji Kruskal Wallis, uji Mann Whitney dan uji korelasi Spearman. Hasil uji Kruskal Wallis (p = 0,000) menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan, begitu juga dengan hasil uji Mann Whitney (p = 0,029) pada ketokonazol 2% yang berbeda signifikan dengan ekstrak minyak atsiri daun kemangi 65%,60%,55%,50%,45% dan 0%. Uji korelasi Spearman menunjukkan hubungan yang kuat dimana penambahan konsentrasi perlakuan maka semakin besar diameter zona bening yang terbentuk, dan sebaliknya. Dari penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ketokonazol 2% menghasilkan diameter zona hambatan yang lebih besar dari Minyak atsiri daun kemangi pada konsentrasi 65% dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Candida albicans.
English Abstract
Candida albicans is a diploid fungi species that grow as yeast and filamentous cell and is one of the causative agents of opportunistic infections in the oral and genital human. Basil Leave essential oil is a traditional drug which has antifungal effect. This study is aimed to compare the effectiveness between Basil Leaves essential oil (Ocimum basilicum L.) and ketoconazole 2% in vitro to the growth of Candida albicans. This was an experimental study using agar diffusion method. The concentration used for the study are 65%, 60%,55%,50%, 45% and Ketokonazole 2%. Data obtained by calculating the diameter of the clear zone on each hole. The data were then analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test, Mann Whitney test and Spearman correlation test. Results of Kruskal Wallis test (p = 0.000) showed significant results as well as the results of the Mann Whitney test (p = 0.029) the ketokonazole 2% which differ significantly from the extract of essential oil of basil leaves 65%, 60%, 55%, 50%, 45%, and 0%. Spearman correlation test showed a strong positive relationship that mean with the addition of the treatment, the greater the diameter of the clear zone is formed, and vice versa. From the study it can be concluded that Ketokonazole 2% has a bigger inhibition zone diameter than Basil Leaves essential oil at suitable concentration (65%) in inhibiting the growth of Candida albicans.
