Abstract
Salah satu penyebab osteoporosis adalah karena adanya penurunan hormon estrogen saat menopause, untuk meningkatkan kembali hormon estrogen pada wanita menopause yaitu dengan cara pemberian fitoestrogen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara pengetahuan dan pola konsumsi (frekuensi konsumsi dan jumlah asupan protein) bahan makanan sumber fitoestrogen terhadap kepadatan tulang pada wanita pascamneopause di DKI Jakarta. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah analitik observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel diambil dengan metode purposive sampling yang sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi dan didapatkan perhitungan total sampel sebanyak 61 wanita pascamenopause. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan antara pengetahuan tentang menopause, osteoporosis dan fitoestrogen dengan kepadatan tulang pada wanita pascamenopause (P=0.327 Fisher Exact), ada hubungan antara frekuensi konsumsi bahan makanan sumber fitoestrogen dengan jumlah asupan bahan makanan sumber fitoestrogen (P=0.000 Fisher Exact), dan tidak ada hubungan antara jumlah asupan bahan makanan sumber fitoestrogen (pola konsumsi bahan makanan sumber fitoestrogen) dengan kepadatan tulang pada wanita pascamenopause (P=0.170 Fisher Exact). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak adanya hubungan antara pengetahuan dan pola konsumsi bahan makanan sumber fitoestrogen dengan kepadatan tulang.
English Abstract
One of the possible causes of osteoporosis is the decrease of the estrogen production especially during menopause. The estrogen of the postmenopausal women can be artificially increased by supplementing an adequate food that contains phytoestrogens sources. This study aims to determine the correlation between the knowledge and the consumption patterns (the frequency of consumption and the amount of protein intake) of the phytoestrogens sources with the bone density in postmenopausal women in DKI Jakarta. The study design was observational analytic with cross sectional approach. Samples were recruite by purposive sampling method in accordance with inclusion and exclusion criteria, a total samples of 61 postmenopausal women are obtained in this study. The results showed that there was no correlation between the levels knowledge of the menopause, osteoporosis and phytoestrogen with the bone density of postmenopausal women (P = 0327 Fisher Exact). A correlation was found between the frequency of consumption of food which contains phytoestrogens with the amount of the phytoestrogens sources intake (P = 0.000 Fisher Exact). And there was no correlation between the amount of the phytoestrogens source intake (consumption pattern of food contains phytoestrogens sources) with the bone density in postmenopausal women (P = 0.170 Fisher Exact). It can be concluded that there is no correlation between the levels knowledge and the consumption patterns of food contains phytoestrogens sources with the bone density.
