Abstract
Prevalensi obesitas saat ini telah meningkat sangat tajam di seluruh dunia Beberapa penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan kejadian binge eating (BE) dengan obesitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kejadian binge eating dengan indeks massa tubuh (IMT), lingkar pinggang (LP), dan persen lemak tubuh (PLT) pada mahasiswa obesitas di Kota Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan studi cross sectional dengan metode pengambilan sampel penelitian dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari 59 responden, yang mengalami binge eating adalah sebanyak 17 responden (29%) dengan tingkat moderat 15 responden (26%) dan tingkat berat 2 responden (3%). Berdasarkan pengkajian asupan zat gizi didapatkan bahwa responden yang mempunyai asupan lemak berlebih (>30%), asupan karbohidrat masih rendah (<55%) dan serat rendah (<AKG). Rata-rata asupan energi pada responden yang mengalami BE lebih tinggi (1935,43kkal) dibandingkan dengan responden yang tidak mengalami BE (1716,41kkal). Hasil uji korelasi menggunakan Spearman menunjukkan tidak ada hubungan antara kejadian BE dengan IMT dan LP baik pada laki-laki dan perempuan, serta dengan PLT perempuan (p>0,05). Sedangkan hasil uji korelasi antara kejadian BE dengan PLT laki-laki terdapat hubungan yang signifikan (p<0,05) dengan nilai korelasi (r=0,579). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, perlu adanya penanganan secara dini terhadap orang yang mempunyai gejala BE untuk mencegah terjadinya obesitas.
English Abstract
The prevalence of obesity has increased sharply in worldwide. The presence of binge eating disorder characterized by eating large amounts of food and being out of control and influencing obesity risk.The goal of this study was to determine the association between incidence of binge eating (BE) with body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), and percent body fat (PBF) in obese college students in Malang. This research was a quantitative study with cross sectional design. The sampling was determined by using purposive sampling. The results showed of 59 respondents, who experience BE of 17 respondents(29%), with a moderate level of 15 respondents (26%) and severe level of 2 respondents (3%). Based on the results of food recall 1x24 hour and a food record 3x24 hours showed with both men and women have high fat intake (> 30%), low carbohydrate intake(<55%) and low fiber (less than RDA). Data analysis by using Spearman rank correlation coefficients. The result showed there were no significant correlation between the incidence of BE with BMI and WC in men and women, and also with PBF in women respondents (p> 0.05). There was significant correlation between the incidence of BE with PBF in men respondent (p<0.05) with the value of the correlation (r = 0.579). Based on these results, necessary to early treatment who have symptoms of BE to prevent obesity.
