Abstract
Diabetes melitus adalah suatu sindroma yang ditandai dengan terganggunya metabolisme karbohidrat, lemak dan protein yang disebabkan oleh berkurangnya sekresi insulin atau penurunan sensitivitas jaringan terhadap insulin. Salah satu gangguan metabolisme lemak yang terjadi adalah hipertrigliseridemia. Air kelapa muda diyakini menjadi obat alternatif untuk menurunkan kadar trigliserida karena mengandung zat aktif yaitu L-arginin, kalsium, vitamin C, potasium dan magnesium. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh air kelapa muda (Cocos nucifera) terhadap kadar trigliserida serum pada tikus putih (Rattus novergicus) strain Wistar yang diinjeksi aloksan. Desain penelitian ini adalah Post Test Only Control Group Design, tikus dibagi menjadi empat kelompok; kelompok kontrol negatif (tikus diet normal saja), kelompok kontrol positif (tikus diberi injeksi aloksan), kelompok perlakuan I (tikus diberi injeksi aloksan dan insulin) serta kelompok perlakuan II (tikus diberi aloksan dan air kelapa muda selama 14 hari). Kemudian tikus dibedah untuk diperiksa kadar trigliseridanya. Data kadar trigliserida dianalisis menggunakan One Way ANOVA. Dari hasil uji One-Way ANOVA didapatkan p=0,004 (p<0,05) yang berarti adanya perbedaan rata-rata yang signifikan antara keempat kelompok tersebut. Pada uji LSD, kadar trigliserida serum pada kelompok K(+) (187,7 ± 56,6 mg/dL) meningkat secara signifikan (p=0,044) dibandingkan dengan kelompok K(-). Sedangkan Kadar trigliserida serum pada kelompok insulin (60,7 ± 21,5 mg/dL) menurun secara signifikan (p=0,000) dibandingkan dengan kelompok K(+). Dan kadar trigliserida serum pada kelompok terapi air kelapa muda (73,2 ± 22,2 mg/dL) menurun secara signifikan (p= 0,072) dibandingkan dengan K(+). Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa air kelapa muda berpengaruh dalam menurunkan kadar trigliserida serum pada tikus diabetes yang diinjeksi aloksan.
English Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a syndrome characterized by disruption of the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins caused by reduced insulin secretion or a decrease in tissue sensitivity to insulin. One of the disorders of fat metabolism that occurs is hypertriglyceridemia. Young coconut water is believed to be an alternative medicine to reduce triglyceride level since it contains active substance such as L-arginin, calcium, vitamin C, pottasium and magnesium. The present study was aimed to evaluate the effect of young coconut water on triglyceride serum level of alloxan-induced DM rats (Rattus novergicus) strain Wistar. The research design was Post Test Only Control Group Design, used rats that were divided into four groups; negative control (normal rats without intervention), positive group (injection of alloxan), the insulin group (injection of alloxan and insulin) and the other group with the injection of alloxan and administration of young coconut water for 14 days. Then, the rats were sacrificed to check their triglyceride serum levels. The triglyceride serum levels were analyzed using One-Way ANOVA. In this experiment, it was observed that the significant value of One-Way ANOVA was p=0,004 (p<0,05) which means there was significant different in the average of all groups. On LSD test, serum triglyceride levels in group K (+) (187.7 ± 56.6 mg / dL) increased significantly (p = 0.044) compared with the group K (-). While serum triglyceride levels in the insulin group (60.7 ± 21.5 mg / dL) decreased significantly (p = 0.000) compared with the group K (+). And serum triglyceride levels in the treatment group of young coconut water (73.2 ± 22.2 mg / dL) decreased significantly (p = 0.072) compared with K (+).Based on this research, it can be concluded that young coconut water is able to reduce triglyceride serum level of alloxan-induced DM rats strain Wistar.
