Abstract
Serat adalah bagian dari tumbuhan yang dapat dimakan tetapi tidak dapat dicerna oleh pencernaan manusia. Serat dapat mencegah terjadinya obesitas karena serat dapat berfungsi sebagai penghalang mekanis terhadap pencernaan enzimatik makronutrient seperti lemak dan pati di usus halus. Kalangan mahasiswa kos merupakan kelompok yang rentan memiliki asupan serat yang rendah. Selain asupan serat, kurangnya aktivitas fisik juga merupakan faktor pencetus obesitas.Perilaku sedentary mengalami peningkatan pada mahasiswa. Prevalensi mahasiswa yang mengalami obesitas mencapai 19,3%di dunia. Salah satu jenis obesitas adalah obesitas sentral. Pengukuran obesitas sentral yang paling sering digunakan adalah lingkar pinggang, dikatakan mengalami obesitas sentral pada perempuan jika ≥80 cm.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara asupan serat terhadap lingkar pinggang pada mahasiswi kos dengan aktivitas fisik ringan di Universitas Brawijaya Malang. Penelitian observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional dilakukan pada sampel mahasiswi yang tinggal di kos/kontrak/asrama UB yang duduk di semester 3 pada tahun ajaran 2014/2015 di Universitas Brawijaya Malang, selama september 2014 -januari 2015. Sampel dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling hingga diperoleh 96 responden. Data asupan serat diperoleh dengan metode wawancara asupan makanan selama 3 bulan terakhir menggunakan form SQ-FFQ, sedangkan pengukuran lingkar pinggang dilakukan dengan mengukur titik tengah antara tulang rusuk paling bawah responden dan tulang panggul paling atas responden. Analisis menggunakan program nutrisurvey 2007, kemudian dilakukan analisis lanjutan dengan software SPSS Windows 16. Hasilnya didapatkan median asupan serat responden sebesar 9,1 gram/hari dan rata-rata lingkar pinggang responden sebesar 72,9 cm. Berdasarkan uji korelasi Pearson, diperoleh hasil tidak ada hubungan antara intake serat dengan lingkar pinggang (p=0,654)
English Abstract
Dietary fiber is the part of the plant that is edible but not digestible by the human digestive.Dietary fibe colud prevent obesity cause its can function as mechanical barrier to macronutrient enzymatic disgestion such as fat and strach in small intestine. College student were especially in vulnerable to low dietary fiber intake. In addition to fiber intake, lack of physical activity is also a precipitating factor obesitas. Sedentary lifestyle increase in college student too. The prevalence of college students who are obese was 19.3% in the world. And one type of obesity is central obesity. Central obesity often measured by waist circumference, and in women characterized when waist circumference ≥80 cm. This research object to examine the correlation between dietary fiber intake with waist circumference of college student who has light physical activity in Brawijaya University. Observational analytical and cross sectional study are examined to college student who lives in boarding house in third semester school year 2014/2015 in Brawijaya University, during sepetember 2014 – january 2015. Sample are chosen by purposive sampling method until obtained 96 respondent. Data collection was perfomed by dietary assesment interviewing the students about food intake in last 3 months with SQ-FFQ form, and also waist circumference measured by measuring middle point between lowest rib and top of hip bone at the respondents. Data collected was analyzed with Nutrisurvey 2007 then analyzed with SPSS 16 software. The results obtained median dietary fiber intake respondent is 9,1 gram/day and average of respondents waist circumference is 72,9 cm. Based on Pearson correlation test, the result is there wasn’t associaton between dietary fiber intake and waist circumference (p=0,654).
