Abstract
Body image merupakan konsep subjektif mengenai penampilan fisik berdasarkan observasi sendiri dan reaksi dari orang lain serta gagasan mengenai berbagai dimensi tubuh yang terdiri dari: persepsi terhadap diri sendiri dan sikap yang berhubungan dengan penampilan fisik secara teori, kecenderungan, persepsi dan adat yang berlaku. Body image dikategorikan menjadi body image positif dan negatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan body image dengan tingkat pendidikan, pekerjaan dan pendapatan orang tua pada siswi kelas X, XI dan XII di SMA Negeri 13 Jakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan studi cross sectional yang dilakukan pada siswi kelas X, XI dan XII di SMA Negeri 13 Jakarta. Sampel dipilih dengan cara stratified random sampling berdasarkan kelas dengan jumlah 235 responden. Variabel pada penelitian ini adalah body image, pendidikan orang tua, pekerjaan orang tua dan pendapatan orang tua. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa siswi yang memiliki body image negatif sebanyak 54% dan siswi yg memiliki body image positif sebanyak 46%. Berdasarkan uji statistik, tidak terdapat hubungan antara body image dengan pendidikan, pekerjaan dan pendapatan orang tua pada siswi kelas X, XI dan XII di SMA Negeri 13 Jakarta (Pearson, P > 0,05). Saran penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan siswi mengenai body image dan status gizi.
English Abstract
Body image is a subjective concept of physical appearance based on his own observations and reactions of others as well as an idea of the various dimensions of the body which consists of: the perception of self and attitudes related to physical appearance in theory, trends, and customs prevailing perception. Body image is categorized into positive and negative body image. This study aimed to determine the relationship of body image and level of education, occupation and parents’ income of female students at class X, XI and XII in SMAN 13 Jakarta. This study was a cross-sectional study that was conducted at the student at class X, XI and XII in SMAN 13 Jakarta. Samples were selected through stratified random sampling based on grade of classes with 235 respondents. The variables in this study is body image, parental education, parental occupation and income of parents. The results was shown that students who have a negative body image were about as 54% and the student who have a positive body image were about 46%. Based on statistical test, there was no correlation between body image with education, employment and income of parents on student class X, XI and XII in SMAN 13 Jakarta (Pearson, P> 0.05). Suggestion this study is to increase student knowledge about body image and the nutritional status.
