Abstract
Siswa sekolah dasar merupakan salah satu kelompok yang paling rentan menjadi korban dalam kasus keracunan makanan, 17,26 - 25,15 % kejadian terjadi di lingkungan sekolah dan sebagian besar karena Pangan Jajanan Anak Sekolah (PJAS) tidak memenuhi syarat kesehatan. Ceramah merupakan metode dasar pembelajaran yang sering digunakan, namun cara ini terkadang membosankan karena responden cenderung lebih pasif, sedangkan bermain pada masa anak-anak merupakan sarana pendidikan yang penting untuk mengeksplorasi otak. Oleh karena itu, konsep pendidikan yang paling sesuai adalah konsep pendidikan yang dipadukan dengan bermain, salah satunya dengan penerapan metode Team Game Tournament (TGT). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui perbedaan metode Team Game Tournament (TGT) dan metode ceramah terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan siswa kelas 5 SDN Tumpakrejo 1 dan SDN Tumpakrejo 2 kabupaten Malang dalam pemilihan jajanan sehat. Jenis penelitian ini adalah studi eksperimental, desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasy experimental study dengan pretest-posstest design. Jumlah sampel adalah 41 orang, yang diambil dengan cara total sampling yaitu memilih seluruh siswa kelas 5B pada SDN Tumpakrejo 1 dan seluruh siswa kelas 5 pada SDN Tumpakrejo 2. Variabel yang diteliti dan dianalisis pada responden tersebut adalah pengetahuan pada kelompok ceramah dan kelompok TGT berdasarkan nilai pretest-posttest. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan pengetahuan yang signifikan antara kelompok TGT dan kelompok ceramah yang telah diberi pendidikan gizi tentang jajanan sehat (p<0,05), dengan peningkatan rata-rata nilai kelompok TGT lebih tinggi 2,93% dibandingkan kelompok ceramah, sehingga Team Game Tournament dapat direkomendasikan sebagai metode pendidikan yang lebih sesuai untuk sasaran anak usia sekolah.
English Abstract
Elementary school students is one of the most groups that’s at risk to be food poisoning victims, from 17,26 to 25,15 % of the events occurring in the school environment because PJAS does not fulfill the health requirements. Lecture is the basic learning method which often used, but this way is sometimes tedious because respondent become more passive, while play in childhood is important educational tool to exploring the brain. The most appropriate educational concept is combined with the play, one of them is Team Game Tournament (TGT) method. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference of Team Game Tournament (TGT) method and lecture methods to increased knowledge of fifth grade students in SDN Tumpakrejo 1 and SDN Tumpakrejo 2 about healthy snacks choice. This research was quasy experimental study with a pretest-posstest design. 41 samples are used, which was taken by using a total sampling, which selected all students in class 5B at SDN Tumpakrejo 1 and all students in year 5 at SDN Tumpakrejo 2. This research used variable knowledge in the lecture group and the TGT group based on the value of the pretest and posttest. The results showed that there was a significant differences about knowledge improvement between the TGT group and the lecture group were given nutritional education about healthy snacks choice (p<0.05), with average value of knowledge improvement in TGT group is 2,93% higher than lecture group. So, Team Game Tournament can be recommended as the more appropriate method of education for school-age children
