Winalter, GinaKrisanti (2014) Hubungan Asupan Magnesium Dan Kalsium dengan Kejadian Hipertensi di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Dinoyo Kota Malang. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

Hypertension is a cardiovascular problem that needs a proper handling due to the high rate of prevalence and may lead to various complications in society. In 2000, as many as 50% of cardiovascular disease were caused by hypertension which East Java has a higher prevalence rate of hypertension by 37,4% nationally. This study aims to determine the relationship between magnesium and calcium intake with the cases of hypertension in Puskesmas Dinoyo Malang. This study uses descriptive analytic observational method with cross-sectional approach. The respondents of this study are the hypertension outpatients in the working area of Puskesmas Dinoyo Malang by applying purposive sampling technique to those outpatients. The data collected consist of characteristics sample such as gender and age, the intake of magnesium and calcium which are obtained by SQFFQ while blood pressure data are obtained by direct measurement using a Spigmomanometer . Data analysis is performed with Spearman Correlation test. The results of the study of 53 respondents are 31 people (58.5%) have a good intake of magnesium and as many as 46 people (86.6 %) have less calcium intake. The majority of respondents have high blood pressure by 32 people (60.4%). According to Spearman correlation test, it shows that there is no significant association between magnesium intake and the case of hypertension (p=0,517; r= -0,091). Besides that, the results shows that there is no significant relationship between the case of hypertension and calcium intake (p=0,249; r=0,161).
