Abstract
Kecerdasan emosional merupakan kemampuan seseorang dalam mengatur kehidupan emosinya dengan inteligensi melalui ketrampilan kesadaran diri, pengendalian diri, motivasi diri, empati dan ketrampilan sosial. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui hubungan kecerdasan emosional terhadap kesadaran tertib berlalu lintas pada siswa SMA dengan menggunakan metode Cross Sectional. Sampel dipilih dengan teknik ramdom sampling dengan kriteria inklusi dan didapatkan sampel sejumlah 133 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kecerdasan emosional dan kesadaran tertib berlalu lintas yang telah dimodifikasi. Didapatkan responden yang memiliki kecerdasan emosional baik dengan kesadaran tertib berlalu lintas tinggi sebanyak 54 siswa (41%). Sedangkan pada kecerdasan emosional cukup dengan kesadaran tertib berlalu lintas baik sebanyak 75 siswa (56%) dan kesadaran tertib berlalu lintas cukup sebanyak 4 siswa (3%). Berdasarkan hasil uji range spearman (p:0,000, α:0,05, r = 0,345) yang berarti menunjukkan hubungan tingkat kecerdasan emosional dengan kesadaran tertib berlalu lintas. Arah korelasi bernilai positif yang berarti semakin baik kecerdasan emosional maka semakin baik kesadaran tertib berlalu lintas. Berdasarkan penelitian ini disarankan bagi institusi pendidikan untuk mengadakan pengembangan kepribadian yang berhubungan dengan kecerdasan emosional secara berkala. Pelibatan sekolah dalam pelayanan kesehatan peduli remaja dan promosi kesehatan tentang kecerdasan emosional diperlukan untuk menambah informasi siswa dalam mengelola emosinya.
English Abstract
Emotional intelligence is a persons ability to regulate his emotional life with intelligence skills through self-awareness, self-control, self-motivation, empathy and social skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of emotional intelligence to the orderly traffic awareness in high school students using a cross sectional method. The sample was selected by ramdom sampling techniques with inclusion criteria and obtained a sample of 133 students. Instrument used is emotional intelligence and awareness of orderly traffic that has been modified. It was found that the respondents have good emotional intelligence with a high awareness of orderly traffic of 54 students (41%). While on emotional intelligence enough with a good awareness of orderly traffic as many as 75 students (56%) and awareness of orderly traffic pretty much as 4 students (3%). Based on the results of Spearman range test (p: 0.000, α: 0.05, r = 0.345), indicating the correlation between emotional intelligence and awareness of orderly traffic. Direction of the correlation is positive, which means the better emotional intelligence makes the awareness of orderly traffic better. Based on this study suggested for the development of educational institutions to conduct personality related to emotional intelligence on a regular basis. Involving schools in adolescent health care and health promotion of the emotional intelligence necessary to add information students in managing their emotions.
