Abstract
Pemberian ASI eksklusif merupakan pemberian ASI saja tanpa makanan atau minuman tambahan lain selama 6 bulan pertama kehidupan bayi. Pemberian ASI eksklusif memiliki peranan penting dalam pencapaian target MDGs 4 karena dapat menurunkan angka kesakitan bayi. Banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi pemberian ASI eksklusif salah satunya adalah motivasi ibu. Motivasi akan mendahului adanya suatu perilaku. Begitu pula dengan perilaku ibu dalam memberikan ASI eksklusif juga dipengaruhi oleh adanya motivasi. Motivasi yang kuat pada seorang ibu diharapkan mampu mempengaruhi perilaku ibu dalam memberikan ASI eksklusif untuk bayinya. Angka pencapaian pemberian ASI eksklusif di Puskesmas Mulyorejo tahun 2012 adalah 51,06 persen. Angka ini masih belum dapat mencapai target pemerintah sebesar 80 persen dan target Dinas Kesehatan Kota Malang sebesar 55 persen. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui adanya hubungan antara motivasi ibu dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Mulyorejo Kecamatan Sukun Kota Malang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 25 Maret-19 April 2014. Jenis penelitian deskriptif analitik observasional dengan pendekatan Cross Sectional. Teknik pemilihan sampel dengan metode purposive sampling didapatkan 62 sampel. Variabel independen yang diteliti adalah motivasi ibu, sedangkan variabel dependen yang diteliti adalah pemberian ASI eksklusif. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah ibu yang memiliki bayi usia 6-12 bulan yang memberikan ASI di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Mulyorejo Kecamatan Sukun Kota Malang pada bulan Desember 2013. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 37,1 persen ibu dengan motivasi tinggi yang memberikan ASI eksklusif dan tidak ada ibu dengan motivasi rendah yang memberikan ASI eksklusif. Berdasarkan uji signifikansi Chi square dengan α<0,05 didapatkan hasil nilai p value=0,000 atau p value<0,05 (0,000<0,05) sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada hubungan antara motivasi ibu dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Mulyorejo Kecamatan Sukun Kota Malang
English Abstract
Exclusive breastfeeding is breastfeeding without any additional food or drink during the first 6 months of baby life’s. Exclusive breastfeeding has an important role in the achievement of MDGs 4 because it can reduce infant morbidity. Many factors affect exclusive breastfeeding one of which is the mother’s motivation. Motivation will precede the existence of a behavior. Similarly, the mothers behavior in exclusive breastfeeding is also influenced by the presence of motivation. Strong motivation on a mother is expected to influence mother behavior in exclusive breastfeeding for the baby. The rates of exclusive breastfeeding in Puskesmas Mulyorejo in 2012 is 51.06 percent. This statistic has not reach the government target of 80 percent and the target of Malang Health department by 55 percent. The purpose of this research was to determine the correlation between mother’s motivation of exclusive breastfeeding in Puskesmas Mulyorejo works area Sukun District Malang City. This research was conducted on March 25th until April 19th 2014. This research applied a descriptive cross sectional analytic approach. Sample were selected with purposive sampling method obtained 62 samples. The independent variables were mother’s motivation, where as the dependent variable were exclusive breastfeeding. The samples of this research were mothers with infants aged 6-12 months whose give the exclusive breastfeeding in Puskesmas Mulyorejo Work Area Sukun District, Malang City. Result showed that as many as 37.1 percent of mothers with high motivation to breastfeed exclusively and no mothers with low motivation who breastfeed exclusively. Based on Chi square test with α <0.05 result p value=0.000 or p value <0.05 (0.000<0.05) so, it can be included that there is correlation between mother’s motivation with exclusive breastfeeding in Puskesmas Mulyorejo work area, Sukun sub-district, Malang.
