Abstract
Latar Belakang : Susu sapi bubuk mengandung berbagai komponen diantaranya vitamin D dan kalsium yang diduga dapat menurunkan kadar LDL (Low density lipoprotein) pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe 2. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian susu sapi bubuk terhadap kadar LDL serum pada tikus wistar dengan diabetes mellitus tipe 2. Metode : Penelitian eksperimental menggunakan Randomized Post Test Only Control Group Design. Sejumlah 30 tikus wistar dibagi secara acak menjadi 5 kelompok. Kelompok kontrol negatif (K-) adalah tikus yang diberi pakan normal selama 90 hari, kelompok kontrol positif (K+) diinduksi dengan STZ tanpa diberi susu selama 90 hari, kelompok P1 sampai P3 diberi diet normal dan susu sapi bubuk 0,9; 1,8 dan 2,7 gram secara oral setiap hari selama 90 hari. Pada hari ke-91 tikus diukur kadar LDL serumnya dengan Enzymatic photometric dan data dianalisa dengan SPSS 16. Hasil : Tidak terdapat pengaruh pemberian susu sapi bubuk dengan berbagai dosis terhadap kadar LDL serum tikus. Uji One way ANOVA menunjukkan tidak adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antar kelompok (p=0.403). Namun terjadi penurunan kadar LDL serum pada perlakuan P1 dan P3 yang diberi susu sapi bubuk masing-masing 0,9 gram dan 2,7 gram jika dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol positif. Kesimpulan : Pemberian susu sapi bubuk dengan dosis 0,9; 1,8; dan 2,7 gram/hari selama 90 hari belum mampu menurunkan kadar LDL serum pada tikus model diabetes mellitus tipe 2 secara signifikan.
English Abstract
Background : Milk powder contains various components such as vitamin D and calcium which can reduce LDL (Low density lipoprotein) serum level in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The aim of this study is to know the effect of cows milk powder to serum LDL levels of wistar rats with type 2 diabetes mellitus Method : Experimental study with Randomized Post Test Only Control Group Design. Thirty males wistar rats were divided randomly into 5 groups. K(-) is the group of rats which fed normally for 90 days, K(+) group was induced by STZ without given milk powder for 90 days , group P1, P2, P3 were given a normal diet and milk powder 0.9 ; 1.8 and 2.7 g orally every day for 90 days. At day-91, rats ware terminated for assessing LDL serum level by Enzymatic photometric. Data were analyzed using SPSS 16 for Windows. Result : There was no effect of milk powder with various doses in LDL serum levels. One way ANOVA test showed no significant difference between groups (p = 0.403). However, serum LDL levels in treatment P1 and P3 which tretaed with milk powder doses 0.9 and 2.7 g/day lower than group K (+). Conclusion : The milk powder as a source of vitamin D has not been able to lower LDL levels in mice model of type 2 diabetes melitus significantly
