Abstract

Salah satu metode yang dianggap cukup efektif pada pembelajaran aktif adalah metode PBL (Problem Based Learning). Apabila diterapkan dengan benar, banyak manfaat yang akan didapat oleh mahasiswa. Salah satunya adalah retensi yang lebih baik terhadap pengetahuan sehingga dapat meningkatkan nilai blok mahasiswa. Pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap metode Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah (Problem Based Learning) yang baik akan mempengaruhi penerapannya dan kemudian mempengaruhi hasil nilai blok mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap metode pembelajaran PBL (Problem Based Learning) dengan nilai blok mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Dokter Gigi FKUB angkatan 2012. Rancangan penelitian survei analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Semua mahasiswa angkatan 2012 yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi menjadi sampel peneltian (total sampling). Cara pengambilan data yaitu dengan memberikan kuisioner untuk mengetahui pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap metode PBL dan mengambil data nilai blok mahasiswa PSPDG FKUB angkatan 2012 di bagian akademik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa diketahui koefisien korelasi R sebesar positif 0,842 yang relatif mendekati 1, sehingga dapat diartikan bahwa terjadi hubungan kuat dan searah antara pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap metode pembelajaran PBL (Problem Based Learning) dengan nilai blok mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Dokter Gigi FKUB angkatan 2012. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pemahaman mahasiswa mempunyai hubungan positif dan searah terhadap metode pembelajaran PBL (Problem Based Learning).

English Abstract

One of the methods that are considered quite effective on active learning is a method of PBL (Problem Based Learning). When applied correctly, many benefits to be gained by the student. One of them is a better retention of knowledge so that it can increase the student’s achieved blok grade. Students understanding of the Problem-based learning method that will affect both its application and then influence the outcome of the student’s achieved blok grade. This research aims to know the relationship between students of Education Department of Universitity of Brawijaya understanding of the learning method of PBL (Problem Based Learning) with their achieved grade. Experimental study of descriptive research with cross sectional analytic was conducted to all student of 2012 class by distributing the sistematic quistionaires. The collected data were analized using the multiple regression approach which was proccessed by the computer application program of SPSS. The results showed that the correlation coefficient of R is positive 0.842 approaching 1, so that it can be interpreted that there is a strong relationship between students understanding of learning method PBL (Problem Based Learning) and their blok grade. Conclusion of this research is the greater student’s understanding of the learning method PBL (Problem Based Learning), then more good their achieved blok grade.
