Abstract
Indeks Pembangunan Manusia (IPM) Indonesia belum menggembirakan, tahun 2007 berada di peringkat 111 dari 182 negara, lebih rendah dibanding negara tetangga. Kurang gizi akan mengakibatkan kegagalan pertumbuhan fisik, perkembangan mental dan kecerdasan, menurunkan produktivitas, meningkatkan kesakitan dan kematian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor yang berhubungan dengan tinggi badan balita wasting di Puskesmas Jabon, Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini bersifat observasional dengan desain crossectional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh balita kurus di Puskesmas Jabon sebanyak 121 anak, dengan sampel 55 balita yang ditentukan secara proposional random sampling. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2012 dengan cara wawancara, obeservasional menggunakan kuesioner, pengukuran berat badan dan tinggi/panjang badan, dan food recall . Data yang terkumpul di analisa secara diskriptif analitik dengan uji chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, sebanyak 52,7% balita wasting tinggi badannya pendek. Hasil analisis statistik diketahui bahwa faktor yang berhubungan dengan tinggi badan balita wasting adalah tingkat pendapatan keluarga, kejadian penyakit infeksi, sanitasi lingkungan, Tingkat asupan protein dan zinc (p< 0,05). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa besarnya pengaruh dari variabel sosial ekonomi, higiene sanitasi lingkungan, kejadian penyakit infeksi dan tingkat asupan zat gizi terhadap tinggi badan balita wasting di Puskesmas Jabon sebesar 61,5%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini disarankan agar dalam menangani balita wasting yang pendek tidak hanya meningkatkan asupan zat gizi saja tetapi perlu juga memperhatikan aspek sosial ekonomi, higiene sanitasi dan penyakit infeksi yang diderita balita.
English Abstract
Human development index (IPM) in Indonesia is not good yet, year 2007, at 111 th ranks from 182 states, lower than the neighbor states. The lack of nutrients caused the fail of physical growth, mental development and intelligence, decrease productivity, increase illness and mortality. The research aimed at knowing the factors that related with the under five children height of wasting at Puskesmas Jabon, Sidoarjo regency. The research was observational with cross sectional design. The research population are all thin children at Jabon local clinic of 121 children, with sample of 44 under five children that is determined by proportional random sampling. The data taking is done in December 2012 with interview, observation by using questionnaire, the body weight measurement and body height and food recall. The collected data is analyzed descriptively and analytically by chi-square. The results showed, about 52.7% of wasting under five children have short height. The statistical analysis results showed that the factors that related with the wasting children is the family income, infectious diseases event, environmental sanitation. The protein intake level and zinc (p< 0.05). Based on the results, it can be concluded that the amount of social economic variable, hygiene, environmental sanitation, the infectious disease and nutrients intake to the body height of wasting under five children at Jabon local clinic of 61.5%. Based on the results, it is suggested that in handling the wasting under five children that is sort not only by increasing the nutrient intake but should consider the social economic aspect, sanitation hygiene and infectious diseases of the children.
