Diantanti, Novita Putri (2013) Perbedaan Konsumsi Susu Coklat Low-Fat dan Sports Drink Terhadap Status Rehidrasi Atlet Usia Remaja (18-21 Tahun). Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
As an athlete also an adolescent, they have more activity than other adolescent in their age. Nutrition fulfillment is needed as an important stage of growth, also to support exercise and competition performance. Adolescent athlete dehydration is caused by higher production of body temperature than mature athlete. This research is aimed to know the distinction of low-fat chocolate milk and sport drink impact given to them as the improvement of hydration status. Research method use quasi experiment and pretest posttest control group design applied to AREMA Junior Football Club. Sample election is conducted by age matching and BMI which is divided into 2 treatment group. Hydration improvement is found from athlete after consume both of drinks experiment. The measured variables are weight, urine specific gravity, and urine colours. Research result shows a significant distinction to urine specific gravity and urine colours (p= 0,025; 0,003) with less middle point applied to treatment group than control and there is no significant distinction to weight (p= 0,533). The conclusion of this research is milk chocolate give better result to urine specific gravity and urine colours variable. Based on the research, it is suggested to consume low-fat chocolate milk (if it is unavailable can be replaced by sports drink) to improve rehydration with 120%-150% volume of weight loss.
