Abstract

LDL adalah lipoprotein yang paling banyak mengandung kolesterol. LDL yang teroksidasi akan meningkat dan mengendap di pembuluh darah jantung sehingga menjadi sempit dan aliran darah terganggu. Semakin tinggi LDL yang teroksidasi maka dinding pembuluh darah akan semakin tebal dan dapat merusak endhotel. Terong ungu (Solanum melongena L.) merupakan sejenis tanaman sayuran berbentuk lonjong dan berwarna ungu karena mengandung pigmen antosianin yang tinggi yaitu sebesar 8 – 85 mg per 100 gram serta zat aktif lainnya yaitu chlorogenic acid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek pemberian jus terong ungu terhadap pencegahan peningkatan kadar LDL tikus putih (Rattus novergicus strain Wistar) yang diberi diet aterogenik. Penelitian True Experimental Laboratoricdengan metode Control Group Post Test Design ini menggunakan sampel tikus putih yang dipelihara di Laboratorium Farmakologi FKUB. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan menggunakan metode RAL (Rancangan Acak Lengkap) dengan jumlah sampel total sebanyak 25 tikus putih. Data diolah dan dianalisis menggunakan SPSS 16. Uji statistik menggunakan one way ANOVA dan uji lanjutan Post Hoc Tukey. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikanpada dosis I (1,3 gr/3 ml)dan dosis II (2,6 gr/3 ml) jus terong ungu terhadap pencegahan peningkatan kadar LDL (α= 0,05;p<0,026). Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa jus terong ungu mampu memberikan efek terhadap pencegahan peningkatan kadar LDL tikus putih. Dosis I (1,3 gram/3ml) merupakan dosis minimum untuk dapat mencegah peningkatan kadar LDL tikus putih.

English Abstract

LDL is lipoprotein that contains cholesterol the most. The oxidized cholesterol will increase and settle lat the heart blood vessel so the vessel will narrow and the blood flow will be disturbed. The higher oxidized LDL then the thicker the vessel wall and able to damage endothelial. The purple eggplant (Solanm melongena L) is vegetable with oval shape in purple because contains antosianin pigment of 8-85 mg per 100 gram and other active substances such as chlorogenic acid. The research aimed at knowing the purple eggplant to the prevention of LDL content increase of the white rate (Rattus novergicus strain winstar) that is given athoregenic diet. It was true experimental laboratory with control group post test design by using white rate sample that is reared at the Pharmacological Laboratory of Medical Faculty of Brawijaya University. The samples selection done by complete random design with sample of 25 white rates. The data were analyzed and processed by SPSS 16. Statistical test by one way ANOVA and post hoc Tuckey test. The results showed that there is significant influence at dosage I (1.3 gr/ 3 ml) and dosage II (=0.05, p<0.026). Based on the research, it can be concluded that the purple eggplant juice able to give preventive effect to the LDL content increase for white rate. Dosage I (1.3 gram / 3 ml) is the minimum dosage to prevent the LDL content increase of the white rate.
