Abstract

Kurang Energi Protein (KEP) adalah kurang gizi yang disebabkan oleh rendahnya konsumsi energi dan protein dalam makanan sehari-hari sehingga pemenuhannya kurang dari 70% Angka Kecukupan Gizi (AKG). Salah satu dampak dari KEP adalah turunnya kadar Hb darah yang berpotensi menimbulkan penyakit anemia. Penanganan KEP dapat dilakukan dengan asupan protein yang berasal dari biji kecipir tua (mengandung 30-42% protein). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tepung biji kecipir terhadap kadar Hb tikus wistar yang diberi diet rendah protein. Studi eksperimental laboratorik ini menggunakan desain post test with control group dengan hewan coba tikus wistar jantan. Sampel yang dipilih secara acak dibagi kedalam empat kelompok: kelompok diet normal (K-), kelompok diet rendah protein (K+), kelompok diet tepung biji kecipir dengan protein 21% (P1) dan kelompok diet tepung biji kecipir dengan protein 45% (P2). Pemberian diet perlakuan dilakukan selama 28 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kadar Hb kontrol positif dengan P1 dan P2 memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan (ANOVA satu arah, p = 0,000) sehingga dapat disimpulkan pemberian tepung biji kecipir pada kondisi diet rendah protein dapat meningkatkan kadar Hb. Berdasarkan data laboratorium diperoleh rata-rata kadar Hb kelompok P2 lebih rendah 4,53% dari kelompok P1, namun berdasarkan uji statistik tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara keduanya (ANOVA satu arah, p = 0,333). Hal ini disebabkan karena adanya ketidakseimbangan zat makro pada diet yang diberikan pada kelompok P2. Oleh karena itu dalam aplikasi pemberian makanan untuk kondisi KEP diperlukan keseimbangan antara zat gizi dan zat makro.

English Abstract

The Protein Energy Malnutrition is malnutrition caused by low consumption of energy and protein in the daily diet so that compliance is less than 70% Nutrient Reference Values (NRVs). One of this condition effects is the decline of blood Hb levels that potentially cause anemia. The treatment for this condition can be with old winged bean seed protein (containing 30-42% protein) intake. This study aimed to determine the effect of winged bean seed flour towards Hb levels in low-protein diet condition. This experiment use post-test control group design towards male wistar rats. The Samples which selected randomly divided into four groups: normal diet group (K-), low-protein diet group (K+), the first winged bean seed flour diet group (P1) with 21% protein, and the second winged bean seed flour diet group (P2) with 45% protein. The diet were given during 28 days. The results showed that the average level of Hb positive control P1 and P2 had significant differences (one-way ANOVA, p = 0.000) so it can be concluded that granting winged bean flour on low-protein diet condition increases Hb levels. Based on the laboratory data, the average of P2 group Hb levels is 4,53% lower than P1 group, otherwise based on statistical test there is no significant difference between them (one-way ANOVA, p = 0.333). This is caused due to an imbalance of macro substances. Therefore, in feeding diet applications for Protein Energy Malnutrition condition the balance between macro nutrients and substances is necessary.
