Abstract
KEP (Kekurangan Energi Protein) merupakan salah satu masalah gizi utama di Indonesia. Asupan gizi yang tidak seimbang, dimana terjadi defisiensi energi dan protein akan mengakibatkan sistem kekebalan tubuh menjadi terganggu dimana ditandai dengan penurunan sistem imun tubuh yang ditunjukkan dengan penurunan cell mediated immunity (sel limfosit). Biji kecipir (Psophocarpus tetragonolobus l.) merupakan salah satu protein nabati dengan kandungan protein tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan pengaruh pemberian tepung biji kecipir secara oral terhadap jumlah limfosit darah pada tikus yang telah diberi diet rendah protein. Studi eksperimental menggunakan pre-post test control group design dilakukan terhadap hewan coba tikus putih Rattus Novergicus Strain Wistar berjenis kelamin jantan. Sampel dikelompokkan menjadi 2 kelompok kontrol dan 2 kelompok perlakuan, yaitu K- (tikus diberi pakan normal), K+ (tikus yang diberi diet rendah protein 4%), P1 (tikus diberi diberi diet pakan normal ditambahkan dengan tepung biji kecipir sampai kandungan protein normal 21%), dan P2 (tikus yang diberi diet pakan normal ditambahkan dengan tepung biji kecipir sampai kandungan protein tinggi 45%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian tepung biji kecipir memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap peningkatan jumlah limfosit darah pada tikus dimana kelompok perlakuan P2 memiliki jumlah limfosit darah yang tinggi dibandingkan dengan P1.
English Abstract
PEM (Protein Energy Malnutrition) is one of the main nutrition problems that happen in Indonesia. An unbalance intake of energy and protein will make trouble the immune system of human body and it makes decreasing of cell mediated immunity (lymphocyte cell). Winged Bean Seed (Psophocarpus tetragonolobus l.) is one of the protein that come from plant sources has high protein content. The goal of this research is to analyzing the difference of effect the winged bean seed that given by oral to total of blood lymphocyte of white rats that fed by a low protein diet. This experimental study use the pre-post test control group design that have been done in male White Rats (Rattus Novergicus Strain Wistar). Sample is divided into two sample groups, 2 control groups and 2 treatment groups. K- (rats fed by normal diet), K+ (rats fed by low protein diet 4%), P1 (rats fed by normal diet added winged bean seed flour with normal protein 21%), and P2 (rat fed by normal diet added winged bean seed flour with high protein 45%). The result showed that winged bean seed flour give real effect to increasing the total blood lymphocyte of rat which that has high number is in the total blood lymphocyte of P2 compared with P1
