Abstract
Malondialdehid (MDA) adalah produk akhir dari oksidasi lipid yang merupakan salah satu akibat yang ditimbulkan oleh radikal bebas yang paling awal dan paling mudah pengukurannya. Daun ubi jalar ungu (Ipomoea Batatas (L.) Lam) merupakan tanaman yang biasa dikonsumsi di negara-negara Asia dan mengandung antioksidan polifenol yang tinggi yakni 1805 mg GAE per 100 gram berat kering. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tepung daun ubi jalar ungu terhadap penurunan kadar MDA tikus Rattus novergicus strain Wistar yang dipapar asap rokok. Penelitian True Experimental Laboratoric dengan rancangan Randomized Post Test Control Only Group Design ini menggunakan sampel tikus putih yang dipelihara di laboratorium Farmakologi FKUB. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan metode RAL (Rancangan Acak Lengkap) dengan jumlah sampel total sebanyak 30 tikus putih. Data diolah dan dianalisa menggunakan SPSS 16. Uji statistik menggunakan Kruskal Wallis dan uji lanjutan Post Hoc Mann Whitney U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kelompok kontrol negatif, kelompok kontrol positif, kelompok perlakuan dengan dosis I (0,07 gram/hari), dosis II (0,14 gram/hari), dosis III (0,28 gram/hari) tepung daun ubi jalar ungu terhadap kadar MDA (p=0,007). Paparan asap rokok juga mempengaruhi kadar MDA. Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa tepung daun ubi jalar ungu memiliki efek terhadap penurunan kadar MDA . Dosis II (0,14 gram/hari) merupakan dosis yang paling banyak menurunkan kadar MDA. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa konsumsi daun ubi jalar ungu sebagai sumber polifenol dapat menurunkan kadar MDA yang dipengaruhi karena kebiasaan merokok.
English Abstract
Malondialdehyde (MDA) is a final product of lipid oxidation which is the one of the earliest and the easiest to measure effect caused by free radicals. Purple sweet potato leaves (Ipomoea Batatas (L.) Lam) is kind of plant that usual to consumed in Asian countries and contains high polifenol level, that is 1805 mg GAE on 100 gram edible portion. This study was aimed to determine the effect of purple sweet potato leaves leaves powder to the decrease of Malondialdehyde (MDA) level of Rattus novergicus strain Wistar rat that were exposed cigarette smoke. This True Experimental Laboratoric study using Post Test Control Only Group Design performed in rats that placed in Pharmacologic Laboratory of Brawijaya University. Sampling was carried out by completely completely random sampling with 30 rats for total sample. Data were processed and analyzed using SPSS 16. Statistical Test using Kruskal Wallis and post hoc Mann Whitney U after it. The results showed there was significant correlation between negative control group, positive control group, treatment group with dosage I (0,07 gram/day), dosage II (0,14 gram/day), dosage III (0,28 gram/day) of purple sweet potato leaves powder to the decerease of Malondialdehyde level (p=0,007). The exposure of cigarette smoke influenced the level of Malondialdehyde. This research conclusion is purple sweet potato leaves powder has effect to Rattus Novergicus strain Wistar rats malondialdehyde level. Dosage II (0,14 gram/day) was the dose which is decreasing Malondialdehyde level the most. Based on this study, It was recommended to consume purple sweet potato leaves as polifenol source to decrease Malondialdehyde Level that induced by smoking habit.
