Abstract
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi 1) respon masyarakat terhadap keberadaan peternakan ayam petelur petelur, 2) mengidentifikasi dampak remitan terhadap perkembangan peternakan dan sosial ekonomi masyarakat dan 3) untuk menganalisis pelaksanaan pengelolaan limbah oleh peternak. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada tanggal 10 September sampai 10 Oktober 2017, di Desa Pojok Kecamatan Wates Kabupaten Kediri. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Informan penelitian dipilih secara purposive sampling sebanyak 27 orang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat cenderung merespon secara positif terhadap keberadaan peternakan yang ditunjukkan dengan remitan yang digunakan sebagai modal untuk menciptakan peluang usaha, menciptakan peluang usaha, untuk meningkatkan status ekonomi dan sosial masyarakat. Dampak remitans dapat digunakan untuk menciptakan peluang usaha baru untuk masyarakat seperti mendirikan usaha peternakan, rumah potong hewan skala kecil, pembuatan kandang "battery" dan memperbaiki status ekonomi masyarakat. Pengelolaan limbah yang dilakukan oleh peternak menggunakan air kapur untuk mencegah aroma yang disebabkan oleh kotoran ayam yang terbukti efektif. Di sisi lain, peternakan berupaya untuk mencegah keberadaan lalat dengan membersihkan kandang dan penyemprotan desinfektan ternyata tidak efektif. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa keberadaan peternakan ayam petelur lebih berdampak positif, penggunaan remitan memiliki peran meningkatnya populasi peternakan, menciptakan peluang usaha, kesempatan kerja dan meningkatkan status sosial dan ekonomi masyarakat.
English Abstract
The purpose of this research were 1) to identify community response of breeding laying farm, 2) to identify the impact remittance of breeding laying farms existence to social economy of the community and 3) to analysis the implementation of waste management by farmers. This research was conducted on September 10th to October 10th 2017, in Pojok Village Wates Sub District Kediri Regency. The research method used was case study with qualitative approach. Research informant choosen by purposive sampling as much as 27 people. The results of this research indicating that community tend to response positively to the effects of farm existence that indicated by remittance used as the capital to create business chances, to add work opportunities and to intensify economic and social status of the community. Remittance impact can be used for creating new business chances for employment such as establish a livestock business, small scale slaughter house, “battery” cage manufacture and improve community economic status. Waste management applied by farmer was using calcium to prevent the scent caused by chicken’s coop and calcium was proven to be effective. On the other hand, the farmers effort to prevent flies’ presence by cleaning cage and spraying disinfectant was ineffective. So, it can be concluded that laying hens farms presences merely positive, remittance has role against the precences of the farms, for creating bussines chances, employment opportumities and community economic status.
