Abstract
Padi merupakan komoditas penting yang berperan sebagai penghasil pangan utama di Indonesia. Pertumbuhan penduduk yang terus meningkat setiap tahunnya akan membuat permintaan produksi padi juga meningkat. Sehingga pertumbuhan produksi beras harus lebih tinggi atau minimal sama dengan laju pertumbuhan penduduk. Berbagai macam upaya dapat dilakukan untuk mendorong peningkatan produksi, salah satunya adalah penggunaan benih unggul. Benih merupakan salah satu faktor yang berperan penting dalam kegiatan budidaya padi. Salah satu penggunaan benih unggul disini adalah penggunaan benih padi hibrida. Padi hibrida diharapkan menjadi salah satu solusi dalam peningkatan produksi beras di Indonesia. Namun penggunaan benih padi hibrida sendiri masih sangat kecil, kebanyakan para petani lebih memilih menggunakan varietas nonhibrida. Pemakaian benih padi hibrida yang masih rendah secara umum dipengaruhi oleh kurang optimalnya kinerja atribut-atribut benih sehingga dapat mempengaruhi tingkat kepuasan petani terhadap benih padi hibrida. Berdasarkan permasalahan yang ada di lapang, maka tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk menganalisis tingkat kesesuaian antara kinerja dan kepentingan terhadap benih padi hibrida Mapan P-05, dan (2) untuk menganalisis kepuasan petani tehadap benih padi hibrida Mapan P-05. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Pendem, Kecamatan Junrejo, Kota Batu. Metode penentuan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling dengan menggunakan rumus slovin, sehingga sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 35 orang petani. Alat analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif untuk menjawab tujuan pertama dan analisis kuantitatif menggunakan analisis IPA dan CSI untuk menjawab tujuan kedua serta tujuan ketiga. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar petani sudah mempunyai pengetahuan tentang benih padi hibrida Mapan P-05, namun masih ada ii beberapa petani yang belum mengetahui tentang potensi produktivitas dan ketahanan terhadap hama wereng. Tingkat kesesuaian antara kinerja dan kepentingan dari benih padi hibrida Mapan P-05 adalah sebesar 80.33% dari 10 atribut produk. Berdasarkan diagram kartesius, terdapat 4 atribut yang menjadi prioritas utama untuk dilakukan perbaikan yaitu produktivitas, umur panen, harga beli benih, dan ketersediaan benih. Sedangkan untuk tingkat kepuasan secara keseluruhan adalah sebesar 62.37% yang berarti petani cukup puas terhadap kinerja benih hibrida Mapan P-05. Dari penelitian yang dilakukan maka direkomendasikan saran yaitu produsen perlu melakukan pembenahan pada atribut produktivitas, umur panen, harga beli benih, dan ketersediaan benih agar kinerjanya lebih baik lagi serta bagi pemerintah dapat memberikan evaluasi lagi terhadap industri benih nasional terkait masalah kualitas dan juga harga benih yang sesuai agar tidak merugikan petani.
English Abstract
Rice is an important commodity as the main food producers in Indonesia. Increasing population growth each year would make the request for rice production also increased. So the growth in rice production should be higher or at least equal to the rate of population growth. This makes Indonesia should continue to seek the production of rice in order to fullfil the needs. Many efforts can be made to encourage increased production, one of them is the use of seed. The seed is one factor that plays an important role in the activities of rice cultivation. One use of excelent seed here is the use of hybrid rice seeds. Hybrid rice is expected to be one of the solutions in the increase of rice production in Indonesia. However the use of hybrid rice seed is still very small, most growers prefer to use varieties of nonhybrid. The low usage of the hybrid rice seed is needed to be noticed because it deals with the alignment of the quality hybrid rice in hopes of farmers. The use of hybrid rice seeds are still low is generally influenced by less performance attributes of seeds so it can affect the level satisfaction of farmers against the hybrid rice seed. Based on the existing problems in the fields, then the purpose of this research is (1) to analyze the conformance level of performance and importance hybrid rice seed Mapan P-05, and (2) to analyze farmers satisfaction to hybrid rice seeds Mapan P-05. This research was conducted in Pendem village, Junrejo subdistrict, Batu city. Method of determination sample uses simple random sampling with slovin formula, so the samples are 35 farmers. Analysis data method use descriptive analysis to answer the first purpose, and quantitative analysis are IPA and CSI to answer the second and third purpose. The results of this research conducted were most farmers already have knowledge about hybrid rice seeds Mapan P-05, but there are some farmers who iv don’t know about the potential productivity and resistance to pest. The conformance level of performance and importance of hybrid rice seed Mapan P-05 is 80.33% of 10 attributes of the product. Based on cartesian diagram, there are 4 attribute that be high priority to be improve that is productivity, harvest age, purchase price of the seed, and seed availability. While the level of overall satisfaction is 62.37%, it means farmer quite satisfied on performance of hybrid rice seed Mapan P-05. From this research so that the recommended suggestions are the producer need to make improvements on the attribute there are productivity, harvest age, purchase price of the seed, and seed availability so that it performs better, and the government can give an evaluation of the national seed industry toward more related quality problems and also the appropriate seed prices in order so not to disadvantage farmers.
