Abstract
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengeksplorasi kisah seorang mentor senior bernama Agustina di Pondok Pemulihan Doulas Batu dalam proses komunikasi terapeutik yaitu membangun pendekatan, dan proses penyembuhan pada klien penderita okultisme. Penderita okultisme merupakan kasus unik yang masih dipertanyakan sisi keilmiahannya, berangkat dari komunikasi kesehatan perbedaan perspektif Barat yang melihat okultisme sebagai suatu gangguan jiwa. Penelitian dilakukan melalui metode life history dengan mewawancarai Agustina sebagai mentor senior berpengalaman dalam menangani berbagai kasus tentang penderita okultisme selama 16 tahun. Di samping itu digunakan pula dokumentasi dari pihak Pondok Doulos. Teknik analisis data kualitatif yang digunakan dari Creswell dengan beberapa tahapan yaitu Interpreting the meaning of themes, Interrelating themes, Coding the Data, Reading Through All Data, Orginazing and Preparing Data for Analysis, dan Raw Data. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa okultisme bukan semata-mata gangguan mental seperti yang dipahami dalam perspektif barat, namun okultisme dipandang mengandung sisi spiritual sehingga proses terapi yang digunakan berbasis rohani. Hasil dari penelitian yang ditemukan di lapangan ada empat hal penting. Pertama, penderita okultisme berbeda dengan penderita gangguan jiwa pada umumnya. Kedua, komunikasi terapeutik yang paling utama adalah melibatkan totalitas pelayanan pada kondisi penderita, lingkungan, spiritual, psikologis, serta elemen fisiologis. Ketiga, peranan Agustina sebagai seorang mentor mempengaruhi perilaku klien di Doulos. Keempat, kegiatan yang dilakukan di Doulos membentuk kebiasaan bagi klien atau penderita. Melalui penelitian ini pada umumnya perpektif Timur yang melihat dari sisi spiritual dan holistik dalam suatu budaya berdampak pada suatu kepercayaan akan dunia spiritualitas. Cara penyembuhan yang berbeda dengan pendekatan terapi rohani dilakukan oleh Agustina juga menjadi salah satu kunci penyembuhan untuk penderita okultisme yang tidak bisa dilakukan oleh siapa saja.
English Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the story of a senior mentor named Agustina at Pondok Pemulihan Doulas Batu in the therapeutic communication process that is to build approachment, and healing process to client of occult. Occult client are a unique case that is still in question his scientific side, departing from the health communication differences in western perspective that sees the occult as a mental disorder. Performed through life history methods by interviewing Agustina as a senior mentor experienced in handling various cases of occult client for 16 years. Besides that also used documentation from Doulos. Qualitative data analysis techniques used from Creswell with several stages of Interpreting the meaning of themes, Interrelating themes, Coding the Data, Reading Through All Data, Orginazing and Preparing Data for Analysis, and Raw Data. This study finds that the occult is not merely a mental disorder as it is understood in western perspective, but the occult is seen to contain the spiritual side so that the therapeutic process is used spiritually. The results of the study found in the field there are four important things. First, occult clients are different from people with mental disorders in general. Second, therapeutic communication is primarily involves the totality of service on the patient's condition, environment, spiritual, psychological, and physiological elements. Third, Agustina's role as a mentor influences client behavior in Doulos. Fourth, the activities performed in Doulos form a habit for clients or sufferers. Through this study, in general, the eastern perspective that sees from the spiritual and holistic side of a culture affects a belief in the world of spirituality. Different ways of healing with spiritual therapy approach conducted by Agustina also become one of the keys of healing for occult clients who cannot be done by anyone.
