Abstract
Setiap bahasa memiliki istilah deiks atau deixis, Yule (1985) menyatakan bahwa dengan cara yang konsisten, beberapa kata dalam bahasa tidak dapat ditafsirkan sama sekali kecuali jika konteksnya seperti dia, di sana, ini, bahwa, sekarang, lalu, kemarin dan juga kata ganti yang paling banyak seperti aku, kau, dia, dia dan mereka. Di luar konteks, kalimat ini sangat kabur. Ini berisi sejumlah besar ekspresi deictic (mereka, bahwa, di sini, besok dan sekarang) yang bergantung pada konteks fisik langsung di mana mereka mengucapkannya. Ada dua masalah yang harus dipecahkan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu: Apa jenis deixis yang digunakan oleh karakter utama 'Sam' dalam film A Cinderella Story? Apa rujukan deixis yang digunakan oleh karakter utama 'Sam' dalam film A Cinderella Story? Pada penelitian ini, peneliti menerapkan pendekatan kualitatif. Pendekatan kualitatif ini digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan secara lebih detail tentang tipe deixis yang digunakan dalam film A Cinderella Story. Berdasarkan hasil penelitan, peneliti menemuka deixis yang paling banyak digunakan dalam film A Cinderella Story adalah deixis orang. Deixis orang yang telah ditemukan peneliti sebanyak 312, deixis orang yang ditemukan adalah 197 deixis orang pertama, 94 deixis orang kedua, dan 30 deixis orang ketiga. Deixis terbanyak kedua adalah deixis waktu, yaitu 9. Dan deixis paling sedikit adalah deixis tempat, yaitu 8. Deixis ini merujuk kepada karakter utama yang bernama Sam itu sendiri. Peneliti hanya membahas deixis orang, deixis, dan deixis waktu. Padahal, dari sisi lain masih bisa dibicarakan dengan deixis sosial dan discourse deixis. Peneliti berharap, bagi peneliti selanjutnya yang menggunakan film ini sebagai objek penelitian dengan menggunakan teori teori Levinson yang sama atau teori lain untuk menganalisa semua karakter yang terlibat dalam film tersebut dan dijelaskan secara lebih rinci dalam 5 bentuk deixis Stephen. C. Levinson (1983: p54-95). Dengan demikian diharapkan dapat membantu pembaca atau penulis lainnya dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan mereka.
English Abstract
Every language has deictic term or deixis, Yule (1985) states that in the consistent way, some word in language cannot be interpreted at all unless the context like her, there, this, that, now, then, yesterday as well as most pronouns such as I, you, him, her and them. Out of context, this sentence is extremely vague. It contains a large number of deictic expressions (they, that, here, tomorrow and now) which depend on the immediate physical context in which they utter. There are two problems to be solved in this study, namely: What are the types of deixis used by the main character ‘Sam’ in the movie A Cinderella Story? What is the referent of the deixis used by the main character ‘Sam’ in the movie A Cinderella Story? Based on the research result, it can be seen that the type of deixis which is mostly used in the film A Cinderella Story is a person deixis. The deixis which have been found are 312 divided into 3 (three), namely as many as 197 first-person deixis, 94 second-person deixis, and 30 third-person deixis. The second one 9 deixis time of 9 and the last is 8 deixis of place. The writer discusses only person deixis, place deixis, and time deixis. In fact, from the other side can still be discussed with social deixis and discourse deixis. The writer hope, for the next writers who use this film as the object of the research by using the same theory of Levinson theory or another theory to analyze all the characters involved in the film and described in more detail in the 5 forms of deixis Stephen C. Levinson (1983: p54-95). It is thus expected to assist readers or other writers in enhancing their knowledge.
