Abstract
Pragmatik adalah studi tentang bagaimana ucapan ditafsirkan oleh pendengar. Ini juga dapat didefinisikan sebagai penelitian mengenai hubungan antara bahasa dan konteks. Dalam mengucapkan kata-kata, ada fungsi performatif yang diterapkan. Peneliti mengambil ucapan yang diproduksi oleh Steve Harvey in Miss Universe 2015 Final Show sebagai data. Ada dua masalah yang harus diselesaikan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu: (1) jenis tindakan ilokusi apa yang dilakukan oleh Steve Harvey di acara akhir Miss Universe 2015, dan (2) Apa unsur konteks yang dapat membantu aliran komunikasi selama Miss Pertunjukan terakhir Universe 2015. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yaitu analisis dokumen karena data dalam bentuk kata-kata yang ditranskripsi dari ucapan yang dihasilkan oleh Steve Harvey. Dalam menganalisis data, peneliti menggunakan teori Yule (1996) dalam mengklasifikasikan jenis tindakan ilokusi, dan HYMES (1974) dalam menentukan aspek konteks. Studi ini mengungkapkan bahwa ada 111 ucapan yang diproduksi oleh Steve Harvey di Pertunjukan terakhir Miss Universe 2015 yaitu: Komisensi (7 ucapan), deklaratif (41 ucapan), arahan (26 ucapan), ekspresi (21 ucapan) dan perwakilan (51 ucapan). Jenis tindakan ilokusi yang sebagian besar digunakan oleh Steve Harvey adalah tindakan perwakilan karena ia secara intens menjelaskan beberapa bagian dari pertunjukan kepada audiens seperti bagaimana memilih, aturan kompetisi baju renang, kompetisi gaun malam, dan amp. jawab putaran. Kemudian, aspek konteks yang paling signifikan berakhir karena setiap sesi selama pertunjukan akhir Miss Universe 2015 memiliki tujuan dan tujuannya sendiri. Peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa semua jenis tindakan ilokusi diterapkan dalam ucapan yang diproduksi oleh Steve Harvey. Juga, disarankan untuk peneliti berikutnya untuk melakukan data dengan menggunakan teori lain yang berlaku. Juga, peneliti menyadari bahwa konteks bukan satu-satunya aspek yang dapat dikaitkan dengan studi tindakan pidato, tetapi juga aspek kesopanan.
English Abstract
Pragmatics is the study of how utterances are interpreted by the hearer. It can also be defined as the study concerning the relationship between language and context. In uttering words, there is a performative function applied. The researcher takes the utterances that are produced by Steve Harvey in Miss Universe 2015 Final Show as the data. There are two problems to be solved in this study, namely: (1) what types of illocutionary acts performed by Steve Harvey in Miss Universe 2015 Final Show, and (2) what the element of context that can help the flow of communication during Miss Universe 2015 Final Show. This study uses qualitative approach namely document analysis since the data are in the form of words that are transcribed from the utterances produced by Steve Harvey. In analyzing the data, the researcher used the theory of Yule (1996) in classifying the types of illocutionary acts, and Hymes (1974) in determining the aspect of context. The study reveals that there are 111 utterances produced by Steve Harvey in Miss Universe 2015 Final Show namely: commisives (7 utterances), declaratives (41 utterances), directives (26 utterances), expressives (21 utterances) and representatives (51 utterances). The type of illocutionary act that is mostly used by Steve Harvey is representative act because he intensely explained some parts of the show to the audience such as how to vote, the rules swimsuit competition, evening gown competition, and question & answer round. Then, the most significant aspect of context is ends since every session during Miss Universe 2015 final show has its own purpose and goals. The researcher concludes that all the types of illocutionary acts are applied in the utterances produced by Steve Harvey. Also, it is suggested for the next researcher to conduct the data by using other applicable theories. Also, the researcher realized that context is not the only aspect that can be related to study of speech acts, but also the aspect of politeness.
