Abstract
Skripsi ini membahas mengenai konflik psikologi yang dialami oleh karakter utama pada film kartun yang berjudul Gnomeo and Juliet. Kartun ini bercerita tentang dua buah keluarga, Biru dan Merah yang keduanya saling bermusuhan. Mereka selalu berusah menjadi yang terbaik dan meraih status sosial yang paling tinggi diantara mereka. Tetapi, suatu ketika dengan tidak sengaja kedua anak mereka saling bertemu dan jatuh cinta. Pada akhirnya, anak-anak mereka yang bernama Gnomeo dan Juliet berjanji untuk hidup bersama. Karena hal itulah kedua karakter utama di film kartun ini menghadapi masalah, dimana ketika mereka harus memilih untuk mempertahankan martabat keluarganya atau mempertahankan cinta mereka berdua. Dan penulis menngunakan teory dari Abraham Maslow untuk memecahkan masalah ini. pada teori ini, penulis mencoba untu mengetahui langkah-langkah yang diambil oleh pemeran utama dalam memilih antara cinta nya dengan martabat keluarganya. Berdasarkan dari hasil analisis, penulis menemukan bahwa ada tiga tahap yang dilalui pemeran utama untuk menyelesaikan masalahnya. Langkah pertama adalah mereka menyadari bahwa mereka saling jatuh cinta. Langkah kedua adalah bahwa mereka sadar jika cinta mereka diatas segalanya dan langkah terakhir adalah mereka berjuang untuk memenuhi cinta mereka.
English Abstract
This research focuses on psychological conflict that were underwent by the main characters on Gnomeo and Juliet Movie Cartoon. This movie cartoon tells about the two families, The Blues and The Reds that are rival. They always be the best and reach a higher social class to show their self esteem. But, unintentionally their children met and fallen in love each other. Finally, their children named Gnomeo and Juliet have promises’ to live together. The main characters have the problem in fulfilling their belonging needs, and the researcher uses the theory of Abraham Maslow to reveal this problem. In this theory, the researcher tries to know the steps that taken by the main characters in fulfilling the love as their belonging needs. Based on the analysis, the researcher finds that there are three steps that taken by the main characters to reveal their problem. The first step is that realizing their love for each other. The second step is they realizing their love is above everything and the last or the third step is struggling to meet the need for love.
