Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan menganalisis baik pengaruh langsung valuable resources dan rare resources terhadap kinerja usaha, maupun pengaruh tidak langsung melalui keunggulan bersaing. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada UKM tenun ikat di Kab. Lamongan. Sampel penelitian ditentukan sebanyak 35 UKM dan dipilih menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh, yaitu semua anggota populasi dijadikan sampel. Unit analisis dalam penelitian ini adalah UKM, serta menempatkan para pemilik/pengelola sebagai responden. Data dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan Partial Least Square (PLS) dengan software SmartPLS 2.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan sumber daya bernilai (valuable resources) tidak berpengaruh signifikan baik terhadap keunggulan bersaing maupun kinerja usaha secara langsung. Sumber daya langka (rare resources) berpengaruh positif-signifikan baik terhadap keunggulan bersaing maupun kinerja usaha secara langsung. Kemudian keunggulan bersaing juga dapat meningkatkan kinerja usaha. Hasil pengujian mediasi menunjukkan bahwa keunggulan bersaing tidak memberikan peran mediasi pada pengaruh valuable resources terhadap kinerja usaha, dan sebagai mediasi parsial pada pengaruh rare resources terhadap kinerja usaha. Hasil penelitian secara keseluruhan memberikan implikasi bahwa kompetensi sumber daya manusia yang tidak dimiliki pesaing merupakan aspek yang paling penting dalam memenangkan persaingan, sehingga dapat mendorong pencapaian keunggulan bersaing dan pada akhirnya meningkatkan kinerja usaha.
English Abstract
This study aims to examine and analyze the direct effect of valuable resources and rare resources on business performance and indirect effect through competitive advantage. This research was conducted on Tenun Ikat SMEs Lamongan. The research sample consists of 35 business units selected using saturated sampling method, that is all the members of the population sampled. The unit analysis in this study is SMEs and put the owners/managers as respondents. Data is analyzed by Partial Least Square (PLS) with SmartPLS 2.0 software. The result shows that the valuable resources is have no significant effect on both of competitive advantage and business performance directly. Rare resources have a positive-significant effect on both of competitive advantage and business performance directly. Then, the competitive advantage can also improve the business performance. The result of mediation test shows that the competitive advantage has no mediating role in effect of valuable resources on business performance, but it has partial mediating role in effect of rare resources on business performance. The overall results imply that the rare human resources are the most important aspect of winning the competition, so it can encourage the competitive advantage, and ultimately improve the business performance.
