Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membandingkan performans produksi dan reproduksi sapi Bali pada musim hujan dan kemarau pada lahan persawahan dan tegalan serta mengevaluasi performans terbaik dan dugaan penurunannya di Sulawesi Tenggara. Lokasi penelitian di Desa Lapangisi, Kecamatan Mowewe, Kabupaten Kolaka Timur, merupakan lahan persawahan dan di Desa Waworaha, Kecamatan Palangga, Kabupaten Konawe Selatan merupakan lahan tegalan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survei dan observasi. Variabel performans produksi yaitu bobot badan (BB), pertambahan bobot badan harian (PBBH), Body Condition Score (BCS) dan bobot lahir (BL), sedangkan variabel performans reproduksi yaitu Service per Conception (S/C), Service Periode (SP), Conception Rate (CR), Days Open (DO), Calving Rate (CvR) dan Calving Interval (CI). Data dianalisis menggunakan Analisis Variance (ANOVA) rancangan tersarang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa BB, PBBH, BCS dan BL saat musim hujan lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan musim kemarau. Pada lahan sawah lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan lahan tegalan untuk BB, PBBH dan BCS, sedangkan BL lahan tegalan adalah tertinggi.BL jantan lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan betina. Musim dan jenis lahan mempengaruhi rataanS/C, DO dan CI, sedangkan SP, CR dan CvR dinyatakan sama. Paritas induk mempengaruhi DO danCI, sedangkan S/C, SP, CR dan CvR dinilai sama. Disimpulkan bahwa performans produksi dan reproduksi sapi Bali dipengaruhi olehkonsumsi pakan dan lingkungan (musim dan jenis lahan), umur dan paritas induk, serta jenis kelamin. Unsur-unsur musim mempengaruhi performans produksi dan reproduksi sapi Bali. Suhu paling sejuk di bulan Agustus dan September adalah waktu kawin tertinggi, CR tinggi, SP dan DO singkat. Curah hujan tinggi saat musim hujan diikuti tingginya BB, PBBH dan BCS, sebaliknya curah hujan rendah saat kemarau BB, PBBH dan BCS juga rendah.

English Abstract

The objective of this study was to compare the performance of production and reproduction of Bali Cattle on different season (rainy season and dry season) and land types (paddy field and dry area), as well as to analyze the best performance and the expected decline in Southeast Sulawesi. The location of the study in the Lapangisi Village, Mowewe District, East Kolaka Regency which was the area of rice fields and in Waworaha Village, Palangga District, South Konawe Regency which was the area of dry land area. The research methods applied were survey and observation method. The variables performance of production: body weight (BWT), Daily Body Weight Gain (PBBH), Body Condition Score (BCS) and Birth Weight (BW), the reproduction performance: Service per Conception (S/C), Service Periode (SP), Conception Rate (CR), Days Open (DO), Calving Rate (CvR) dan Calving Interval (CI). Data were analyzed by using the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) of nested design. The result of the research indicated that the average of body weight, daily weight gain, BCS and birth weight was higher during the rainy season compared to the dry season. The average of body weight, daily weight gain, and BCS was higher on paddy field. On the contrary, the birth weight on dry area was higher than it was on wetlands. The average of male cattle birth weight was higher than the average of female cattle. The season and type land affect the average (S/C, DO and CI), while the average SP, CR and CvR was similar. The parity affected to DO and CI, while to S/C, SP, CR and CvR was similar.It could be concluded that the performance production and reproduction of Bali cattle was affected by the feed consumption and environments (season and the type of land), parent age and parity, and sex.The elements of the season affect the performance production and reproduction of Bali cattle. The effect of temperatures in August and September on reproduction are the highest mating, high CR, short SP and DO. High rainfall during the rainy season followed by high BB, PBBH and BCS, otherwise low rainfall during dry season followed by low BB, PBBH and BCS.
