Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh belief terhadap Theory of Mind ditinjau dari jenis kelamin pada remaja. Theory of Mind (ToM) merupakan kemampuan seseorang dalam mengambil sudut pandang orang lain berdasarkan pengetahuan yang dimiliki (Sommerville, Bernstein &Meltzoff, 2013). ToM dipengaruhi oleh belief orang lain yang terdiri dari dua variasi yaitu false belief dan true belief. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah mix desain anova dan melibatkan 73 orang partisipan. Partisipan yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini adalah remaja dengan rentang usia 13-15 tahun. Partisipan dihadapkan pada tugas perubahan lokasi (change of location task) yang meminta partisipan untuk memprediksi pikiran orang lain mengenai perpindahan lokasi suatu objek dalam sebuah cerita. Hasil uji hipotesis pertama menghasilkan F=56.366 (p=0.000) dengan effect size sebesar 0.443. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh belief terhadap Theory of Mind pada remaja. Hasil uji hipotesis kedua menghasilkan F=0.000 (p=0.988). Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh jenis kelamin terhadap Theory of Mind pada remaja. Sedangkan hasil uji hipotesis ketiga menghasilkan F=0.006 (p=0.502). sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh belief terhadap Theory of Mind ditinjau dari jenis kelamin pada remaja.
English Abstract
This study aims to determine whether there is influence of belief on Theory of Mind in terms of gender in adolescents. Theory of Mind (ToM) is a person's ability to take another person's perspective based on knowledge (Sommerville, Bernstein & Meltzoff, 2013). ToM is influenced by the belief of others that consist of two variations ie false belief and true belief. The design used in this study is the mix design ANOVA and involving 73 participants. Participants involved in the study were adolescents aged 13-15 years. Participants faced with the task of location changes (change of location task) that ask participants to predict other people's thoughts about the transfer of location of an object in a story. The first hypothesis test results showed F =56 366 (P = 0.000), This shows that there are influence of belief effect on Theory of Mind in adolescents. The second hypothesis test results showed F = 0.000 (p = 0988). These results indicate that there are no influence of gender on the Theory of Mind in adolescents. The third hypothesis results showed F = 0.006 (p = 0502). so that can be concluded that there are no influence of belief on Theory of Mind in terms of gender in adolescents.
