Abstract
Penelitian ini dilakukan mengingat pentingnya pengaruh dari global terrorism index yang dapat mempengaruhi aktivitas foreign direct investment dan aktivitas makroekonomi. Global terrorism index perlu diperhatikan sebagai salah satu pertimbangan sebelum melakukan investasi dan sebagai upaya untuk ukuran kestabilan makroekonomi, mengingat bahwa kondisi politik berupa aktivitas terorisme pada setiap negara berbeda-beda. Global terrorism index yang dimaksud dalam penelitian ini merupakan jumlah kematian individu yang diakibatkan oleh empat aktivitas terorisme seperti: weapon types, state-based violence, non-state based violence, dan one-sided violence. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada lima negara berkembang di Benua Asia yaitu Negara Indonesia, Filipina, Thailand, India, dan Afganistan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menjelaskan pengaruh global terrorism index terhadap foreign direct investment, mengetahui dan menjelaskan pengaruh global terrorism index terhadap makroekonomi, mengetahui dan menjelaskan pengaruh foreign direct investment terhadap makroekonomi. Hasil penelitian pada Negara Indonesia menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh antara global terrorism index dengan foreign direct investment, terdapat pengaruh negatif antara global terrorism index dengan makroekonomi, dan tidak terdapat pengaruh antara foreign direct investment dengan makroekonomi. Hasil penelitian pada Negara Filipina menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh antara global terrorism index dengan foreign direct investment, tidak terdapat pengaruh antara global terrorism index dengan makroekonomi, dan tidak terdapat pengaruh antara foreign direct investment dengan makroekonomi. Hasil penelitian pada Negara Thailand menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh negatif antara global terrorism index dengan foreign direct investment, terdapat pengaruh antara global terrorism index dengan makroekonomi, dan tidak terdapat pengaruh antara foreign direct investment dengan makroekonomi. Hasil penelitian pada Negara India menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh antara global terrorism index dengan foreign direct investment, terdapat pengaruh negatif antara global terrorism index dengan makroekonomi, dan tidak terdapat pengaruh antara foreign direct investment dengan makroekonomi. Hasil penelitian pada Negara Afganistan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh negatif antara global terrorism index dengan foreign direct investment, terdapat pengaruh antara global terrorism index dengan makroekonomi, dan tidak terdapat pengaruh antara foreign direct investment dengan makroekonomi.
English Abstract
This research was conducted in view of the importance of the effect from global terrorism index that can affect to activities of foreign direct investment and macroeconomic activities. Global terrorism index needs to be considering as one consideration before do investing and as an effort to measure of macroeconomic stability, given that the political conditions of terrorist activities in each country is different. Global terrorism index as defined in this research consisted for number of individual deaths caused by four terrorist activities such as: weapon types, state-based violence, non-state based violence, and one-sided violence. This research was conducted on five developing countries in Asia Continent which namely Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, India, and Afghanistan. The purpose of this research was to know and explain the effect of global terrorism index on foreign direct investment, to know and explain the effect of global terrorism index on macroeconomic, and to know and explain the effect of foreign direct investment on macroeconomic. The result of research for Indonesia shows that there was no effect between global terrorism index with foreign direct investment, there was a negative effect between global terrorism index with macroeconomic, and there was no effect between foreign direct investment with macroeconomic. The result of research for Philippines shows that there was no effect between global terrorism index with foreign direct investment, there was no effect between global terrorism index with macroeconomic, and there was no effect between foreign direct investment with macroeconomic. The result of research of Thailand shows that there was a negative effect between global terrorism index with foreign direct investment, there was an effect between global terrorism index with macroeconomic, and there was no effect between foreign direct investment with macroeconomic. The result of research for India shows that there was no effect between global terrorism index with foreign direct investment, there was a negative effect between global terrorism index with macroeconomic, and there was no effect between foreign direct investment with macroeconomic. The result of research for Afghanistan shows that there was a negative effect between global terrorism index with foreign direct investment, there was an effect between global terrorism index with macroeconomic, and there was no effect between foreign direct investment with macroeconomic.
