Pengaruh Metode Two-Stage Mixing Approach (TSMA) terhadap Kuat Tekan Beton Porous dengan Variasi Komposisi Agregat Kasar Daur Ulang (RCA)

Aprianti, Kartini (2017) Pengaruh Metode Two-Stage Mixing Approach (TSMA) terhadap Kuat Tekan Beton Porous dengan Variasi Komposisi Agregat Kasar Daur Ulang (RCA). Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

Porous concrete is a type of concrete that has a larger pore to allows water to flow through the concrete pores and absorbed by the soil. Because it have larger pores, the compression strength of porous concrete is lower than conventional concrete. The use of porous concrete can be further expanded by replacing some or all of the natural coarse aggregates (NCA) with recycled coarse aggregate (RCA). The quality of RCA is generally lower than NCA, so the Two-Stage Mixing Approach (TSMA) was expected to improve the quality of porous concrete using RCA. The test for material in this research included the density, specific gravity and water absorption of coarse aggregates. While the test for porous concrete included the density and compression strength. These test were conducted to determine the effect of RCA composition and mixing methods on the compression strength of porous concrete. The percentage of RCA used were 0%, 25% 50%, 75%, and 100%, while mixing methods were Normal Mixing Aggregates (NMA) and Two-Stage Mixing Approach (TSMA). The compression strength test was performed at 28 days of concrete using Compressing Testing Machine (CTM). Based on the test results, the maximum compression strength was retained by 100% RCA composition and TSMA method with a value of 11.81 MPa. In this research, the results of compression strength fulfill ACI 522R-10 requirement about porous concrete.
