Abstract
Ilmu antropologi ragawi mempelajari ciri fisik manusia, salah satunya adalah determinasi jenis kelamin. Determinasi jenis kelamin dapat dilakukan menggunakan metode pengukuran lengkung rahang. Pengukuran yang dapat dijadikan sebagai parameter yaitu Inter Canine, Inter Molar, dan Total Arch Length. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbandingan panjang lengkung rahang atas dan bawah antara pria dan wanita pada suku Jawa. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian observasional dengan pendekatan antropometri. Sebanyak 60 model studi rahang atas dan rahang bawah yang diketahui jenis kelaminnya (30 laki-laki dan 30 perempuan) yang diperoleh dari hasil pencetakan rahang pada subjek peneliti dan model studi pasien sebelum perawatan ortodontik diukur jarak Inter Canine, jarak Inter Molar, dan Total Arch Length. Hasil pengukuran dianalisis menggunakan metode statistik yaitu uji normalitas dan dilihat signifikansi perbedaannya menggunakan Independent Sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan dari Inter Canine rahang atas, Inter Molar rahang atas dan bawah, Total Arch Length rahang atas dan bawah.
English Abstract
The science of physical anthropology learned about human characteristic such as sex determination. Sex determination can be determine using the methods of measurement arch. Measurements that can be used as a parameter, such as the Inter Canine, Inter Molar, and Total Arch Length. The aim of this study is to determine the length ratio of the maxillary and mandibular arches between Javanese male and female. The method used was an observational study with anthropometry approach. A total of 60 dental casts of the upper jaw and lower jaw of known sex (30 men and 30 women) obtained from casting jaw from the subject of research and dental casts from patient before orthodontic treatment are measured from Inter Canine distance, Inter Molar distance, and Total Arch Length. The results of measurement used for analysis using statistical methods, specifically normality test and the significance used the Independent Sample t-test method. The results from statistical method showed that there were significant differences of maxillary Inter Canine, maxillary and mandibular Inter Molar, maxillary and mandibular Total Arch Length.
