Abstract

Wi-Fi merupakan teknologi jaringan nirkabel yang menggunakan sinyal radio. Wi-Fi didasari pada spesifikasi IEEE 802.11. IEEE 802.11 seperti IEEE 802.11n bekerja pada frekuensi 2,4 GHz. Masalah pada frekuensi 2,4 GHz yaitu interferensi. Salah satunya adalah interferensi antar access point atau Co-Channel Interference (CCI). Interferensi menyebabkan kinerja access point dapat terganggu dan kurang optimalnya pertukaran data pada jaringan wireless tersebut. Penggunaan beamforming dapat meminimalisir terjadinya interferensi. Pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan kajian secara eksperimen tentang pengaruh beamforming terhadap interferensi antar access point IEEE 802.11n dengan variasi penambahan jarak. Parameter kinerja yang diamati adalah throughput, jitter, dan packet loss. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan beamforming dapat meningkatkan performansi aceess point IEEE 802.11n. Hal ini dibuktikan pada saat terjadi interferensi antar access point yang berjarak 10 meter, nilai parameter QoS (Quality of Service) dengan beamforming lebih baik dibandingkan access point tanpa beamforming. Nilai throughput access point beamforming dan tanpa beamforming pada jarak interferensi sebesar 10 meter berturut-turut yaitu 57071,8 kbps dan 40187,2 kbps, nilai jitter sebesar 0,7732 ms dan 1,5962 ms dan nilai packet loss sebesar 0,007% dan 1,871%.

English Abstract

Wi-Fi is a network wireless technology using radio signal. Wi-Fi is based on IEEE 802.11 standards. The IEEE 802.11 such as IEEE 802.11n operates in 2,4 GHz band. The problem in 2,4 GHz band is interference. There is Co-Channel Interference (CCI), which is interference cross-IEEE 802.11 Interference causes the performance of access points can be disrupted and less optimal in exchange of data on the wireless network. The use of beamforming can minimize the occurrence of interference This study is to experiment on the influence of beamforming on interference between access point IEEE 802.11n with variation of addition of distance. Performance parameters observed were throughput, jitter, and packet loss. The results showed that the use of beamforming can improve the performance of IEEE 802.11n aceess point. It can be proven at the time when interference between access points that are 10 meters away, the value of QoS (Quality of Service) parameters with beamforming better than the access point without beamforming. The value of throughput of access point beamforming and without beamforming are 57071,8 kbps and 40187,2 kbps, jitter value 0,7732 ms and 1,5962 ms respectively and packet loss value is 0,007% and 1,871%.
